Wow if you want an EP that best describes the stages of heartbreaks very well and detailed then it’s Erin Kaith’s “Down Bad Vol. 1,”. At just 21 years old, this Filipino singer-songwriter has already made a name for herself with her candid approach to love and relationships. Her single, “Down Bad,” gained immense popularity on TikTok, with over 300,000 videos created and now serves as the centerpiece of this nine-track project.
Well one thing is for sure, for me whenever an EP is named after a track from the EP then you should know it’s straightout banger and without doubt “DOWN BAD (2023 Version)”, is a powerful track that talks about moving on from a toxic relationship, we all one way or the other find ourselves loving that toxic person. Well the song’s lyrics speak to the pain of dealing with an ex who keeps calling, like c’mon I’ve moved on why can’t you leave me alone? Yes when you’re happier in a healthier and better relationship. Her passionate voice and the manner in which she sings adds extra emotions to the song which makes it very relatable if you’ve been in such situation before.
Oh well well well,”TEMPORARY LOVE.” Ma favorite song on the EP, this particular song got me Soo emotional cos of past experiences. The song goes deep and explain how vulnerable we become during the early stages of a new relationship, we give it our all just so our partner can will love us the same way, but it’s uncertainties are what we fail to grasp in the begining. We want to be loved, we want to be appreciated and we want to have that sort of deep connection with our partner but in all there’s this feeling of getting hurt. The song expresses the “butterflies in your stomach” feeling when you’re falling for someone but are unsure if they feel the same way. The catchy beat and relatable lyrics makes “TEMPORARY LOVE” a standout track on the EP and personal favorite
