4 min read

Sometimes all you need is some music playing and talking to you, helping you reflect on you weakness, your mistakes and then ushering you to go on and live the life you ever wanted. Such creativity and innovation is what The Arvik’s most awaited project ever “Bowhead Tales” album has for us. The attention this album is garnering on major streaming platforms is absolutely insane!!. It’s a 7 track album of amazing songs with a total play time of 32 minutes 56 seconds, more than half an hour of pure talent and joy. If life has been unfair to you and you’re down, just put this album on play as you read up here and see the magic and heal the album brings to you.

Now setting the tone for the rest of the album to follow is the track “Bored Soul”. This is a calm and beautiful opening that just lures you with its distinctive curious beats, urging you to see how the song and the album pans out. The tone, and the way the beats just calmly lay behind the vocals to puts the listener in the feels of the song is unmatched. It’s like listening to imagine dragons, with the way they creates their distinctive beats. The song talks about the feeling of isolation and emptiness. When life feels like you’re nobody and everything, every dream you had has come to an end, that’s where this song pushes you to get up and move on. The beats and delivery of the lyrics are on point and as the song goes on, the lyrics lay emphasis on how you need to find the fire, desire and the resilience in you to keep going even when chaos surrounds you. Just see the light up in the sky, look at the darkness and yet those stars shines for us to see. It gives you hope and purpose to keep going and then the beats, my goodness just soo uplifting and empowering.

The next song I’m gonna talk about is the 4th song on the album titled “Dreaming Black”. This song starts with this intriguing melodies that plays for sometime to allow you the listener to soak yourself in its atmosphere and be ready for what’s to come. Then the vocals comes in crushing with the beatdrop and just then you’re intoxicated with its infectious rhythm. This is a song that talks about how it feels like to have an existential crisis, to feel trapped and to be confused, to be asking yourself why you even exist at all. Why were you even born if this is was how life was gonna treat you. Then you hear the refrain The “I’m dreaming black” which is heard throughout the song, hinting at how you’re surrounding by struggles and how you feel alone but not alone cos you’re fighting your demons. Wow, such a compelling composition with the way the beats, goes in different note and the return to a single note allowing you to ponder on the song’s message and feel it atmosphere. Such a resonating song for every listener to enjoy.

And now the perfect ending for “Bowhead Tales” is the last song titled “Stones and Tears”. A song that starts with this electronic robotic kinda beats, that makes you curious as to if it’s a robot voice coming or you actually gonna hear something intriguing and boom the surprise comes in with this roaring voice on the hooks, consuming you and getting you deep into the song and savoring it all. It’s a song of hope, resilience and the strength to push through every battle, hence why I think the robotic beats, to feel energized to overcome any challenge that may come your way. It’s a powerful, noisy yet clear cut vocals that makes you enjoy the song and have a blasting experience.

Well I personally believe anyone who’s going through something or fighting a silent battle in life needs to listen to this album, it might be exactly what you need to keep you going in order to get to where you want to be. Now that’s how you make an album, the arrangements, the lyrics, the message with each song having something to deliver makes it worthwhile. So now take some time, relax, connect your Airpods and give “Bowhead Tales” a listen. Have a wonderful weekend with “Bowhead Tales” on your playlist. ENJOY!!
