I don’t know why but sometimes it’s good to be deluded by your own self, but too much of it? Nah, that’s lame and makes you think you’re on top of the world but maybe you’re just the tip of the iceberg. Why do people even gets soo deluded about themselves tho? I guess that’s what we have to find out from Benjamin Davies also know as VELIKA VELIKA with his latest single titled COMING. GOING. Well VELIKA VELIKA is an incredibly talented artist who’s popularly known for mixing lo-fi blues and rock ‘n’ roll to make some of the best music you’ll ever hear, and not only that, he also plays basically every instrument, from drums to even guitars and that just goes on to tell you how dedicated he is to his craft. So just imagine the kinda music you about to listen, just pure flames and you gonna love it.
Now this song COMING. GOING is a song that is crazy and lovely, with its vibrant beats riding on a high tempo with some intensified energy captures your attention the moment you hit that play button. Then those guitar roars even makes it more intriguing and compelling, then when you think you’ve heard it all, the lyrics just makes it even better. The song has this feel where you feel it’s noisy yet the noise doesn’t come out, but stays within the track and let’s you get consumed with its intensity and drive. Well the lyrics of the song lay emphasis on how we see ourselves, delusion, which hints at how people just think they’re actually attractive and noticeable to other people even tho that might not be entirely true. Yes, that’s life, it’s good to feel you’re special but know that’s how others also seem themselves. Don’t ever think you’re too special than others and then people will pick you over others, well hate to break it to you but that’s preference and choices. So what happens when you’re the most attractive person yet people don’t even notice you when you’re together in a room? We all special and life goes on, let’s stop discrimination and be the ones that actually help people feel better of themselves and stop shitting on people just because we think we are better than them. It’s life, the moment you go, someone also comes in and that’s why you shouldn’t be deluded with yourself. It’s a beautiful song that has a strong message against discrimination and inferiority complex, but that’s not just it, it has intriguing beats that lets you enjoy yourself with those interludes it brings in between and I love it. The song was was partly recorded in Davies’ home studio and partly at JT SOAR studios in Nottingham and judging just by the beats, the layers of guitar sounds, the bass, the drums and the vocals, you can tell just how much effort and hard work it took to make this great song.
Well “COMING. GOING” is a track that just goes on to show how much Benjamin Davies(VELIKA VELIKA ) have grown as an artist all these years ever since his debut and it’s been an incredible journey indeed. It’s a beautiful track that lets you reflect on your standards and behaviors, and how you feel about yourself and others.
