“The WILLOW TREE” ALBUM: THE SCREAMING POPE’S MASTERPIECE IN ELECTRONIC CREATION & STORYTELLING

I’ve been delivering a lot of albums this week and trust me when I say this album right here is one of the best I’ve had ma hands on this week, it is. We all know “The Screaming Pope” which is led by George Bolton, a Boston Artist, Songwriter, Engineer and a former music video assistant. Well The Screaming Pope is back again with a new album titled “The Willow Tree”. An album that combines Electronic music and incredible story telling to make a masterpiece that will surely leave a lasting impression on you. Being inspired by The Orb, Orbital and William Orbit, The Screaming pope promises to take electronic music to a whole new level just like these legends did and a make a new name for himself. So are you ready to get intoxicated with some electronic beats and melodies filled with super catchy hooks and deep resonating lyrics.
Well giving the album a grand opening is the track titled “Jetstream”. This track starts curiously with this whirlwind that passes through and leave the listener imagining what’s even coming and then let’s you realize the name of the track and boom, the Jetstream passes by and you feel and immerse yourself in its highlights and loose yourself in the whirlwind left behind. The song comes with more beats and minimal vocals which allows the listener to even get intoxicated with its intricate jazz drums blended with those electronic elements and have you hooked and entertained. So just sit back relax and loose yourself in the song. The next track I would love to hit on it is the title track “The Willow Tree”. This track is beautiful and lovely. The beats are lively and melodic, then you get this soothing female vocals singing angelically to your ears and all you hear is love and longing. The song then consumes you and let’s you imagine that beautiful moments where you were in love and let’s you ponder on them with haunting vocals and evocative lyrics that tug at the heartstrings. And bringing the album to a beautiful ending is the track, “Interpolation Equation”. This track is really captivating, the way it sets in with this haunting electronic melodies that creates this illusive atmosphere and leaves the listener to experience a dreamy ambiance, evoking a sense of wonder and awe. What I love about this track is it’s switches, in the beginning you’re met with this slow haunting melodies and just when that ends, you get to welcome some electronic drums in there that has pop vibes that takes you through the song and just when it’s about to end you get a calm and lonely ending.
Well this album The Willow Tree which was recorded in a home studio in Boston, goes on to show how dedicated George is to making music that is both intriguing and resonating. The way he crafts and plays with the electronic elements, one would think he was born with it and that’s because since his debut, he’s grown and polished his craft to the very best and will keep polishing till it’s perfect.
