CONFRONTING YOUR INNER DEMONS WITH DEAD SUPERSTAR’S “THESE VOICES”

3 min read

You dipped in those moments where it turns out like you’re your own enemy? Like you can’t seem to control your inner demons, no matter how you try they just keep spinning and messing with your thoughts, the pain of them never going away, the struggle to stop that addiction or to stop an act that’s hunting your progress but anytime you try it’s like you’re not even making a progress. These frustrations are what the band Dead Superstar has put together on their bone-crushing new track, “These Voices,” as a preview for their forthcoming EP, “Rid The Fear.” The song recorded at JustDefy Studios and produced by Corey Lowery of Seether fame, delivers a relentless onslaught of hard-hitting rock that leaves listeners wanting for more.

Now the song These Voices kicks off with this relentless energy and drive intensified by gritty guitar riffs and pounding rhythms that catches your attention the moment you hit the play button. Then you’re consumed by the roaring vocals of Terence Keith’s raw, emotive delivery swinging in the mix, which carries this sense of urgency and rebellion that resonates deeply with listeners. The song then goes on to talk about the struggles one faces or goes through in fighting their inner demons and external pressure. Sometimes you can’t even deal with the situation around you then you’re being hot with external ones. You’re struggling to find your feet, then your family are also draining you with demands, and later expect you to progress. How do someone progresses if you keep regressing their progress? You can’t even deal with what you’re going through and then you’re facing another one from friends and people around. The pain and anguish becomes weary and make you wanna give up. Then as the song progresses, you hear lines like “all these voices coming inside my head,” hinting at the numerous times these voices won’t let you be and keeps trooping in along with outside forces. Then the repetitive phrase “can’t seem to turn it up, can’t seem to turn it on” conveys a sense of uneasiness and frustrations of feeling trapped in a cycle of negativity. Then the chorus hits you hard with it lines, “can’t stop this enemy, who is the enemy, am I my enemy?” hinting at introspection and identity. It then goes on to urge listeners to keep going and fight their inner demons head-on.

Well These Voices by Dead Superstar goes on to show the band’s ability to blend heavy yet melodic rock elements effortlessly to give the listener an immersive listening experience. What beautiful about the song is addictive nature, wow, you just can’t stop listening, the way the song transport you into an atmosphere where the drums and guitars riffs pushes you to fight and not give up is awesome. It’s like you’re in a dreamy land covered by the sounds of the beats and it blasting soo hard that you can’t hear anyone and you’re there giving it a go at your frustrations and struggles. To me These Voices is a masterpiece, the lyrics, beats, vocals and delivery are all top notch and comes in as a 10/10 project that deserves your attention. So go ahead and give it a listen and have a wonderful week. ENJOY!! Make sure to check them out on the links below for more;
