Our world is in a state where peace is being threatened and people are facing the consequences of war and war itself. I don’t what we did, but humanity is at it worst now. Greedy people everywhere, waiting to devour the weak ones and ready to prey on the vulnerable. The elites puts you in their pocket so they can control you and oppressors keep tormenting people all over, but what can we do? Are gonna stand up for ourselves or we just gonna stay dormant and be thread up on? Well if we can find the slimmest of hope then together we can restore the world. The world in its state is what the Jackass Band, an amazing rock band from Kazakhstan, has put together on their latest album titled “The World?!” Now what’s intriguing about this beautiful 14-track album is how they blended genres and languages together so the whole world can hear the message, demonstrating the band’s versatility and global appeal. Now this album “The World?!” has something unique about it, the way the album pans out, makes it an intriguing adventure from track 1 to track 14. Then the arrangements and how each track was crafted gets the listener hooked to its beautiful melodies and compositions, then gets them glued from start to finish. And with the way they featured ten different languages including English, Kazakh, Old Icelandic, Danish, Chinese, French, Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian, and German adds the cherry on the ice. Man, you just don’t wanna miss out on this one. The diversity in here and how they blended different genres with those languages, whew, I’m intrigued, from thrash metal and Chinese folk to Scandinavian ethnic folk, French chanson, and progressive rock with pop punk elements, you’re in for a treat. Now setting the album in flames is the first track titled “War”. This track starts beautifully with these distinctive nature sounds, which has the flute playing like people preparing for battle or people who have been struck with doom. The track then brings in an energy driven drums and leaves the listener in awe and consumed by it’s haunting atmosphere. The track then goes on to lay emphasis on horrors of conflict, the pain, the loss and anguish people go through. Then as the song progresses, you hear lines like “fear destruction blood death evil blood” hinting at the cruel realities of war and conflicts. The most painful part is, it’s we the people that will experience the consequences of war, the elites however will forever find their away out and we, the ones who foolishly gave in to their ideas will perish. The raw nature of the song, delivered with heavy beats adds depth to the already emotionally charged atmosphere, making it a very resonating piece. So are you gonna go to war for some beliefs? Are you gonna go to war because you were promised something? So are you gonna stay there and not fight for peace instead? Are you gonna be a puppet forever? Man, we’ve gotta do better, and heal the world.
Now after war has been harsh on us, we turn to this track titled “Thunderstorm”. This track instead brings us closer to nature. It makes us appreciate nature and feel the value of what we have or had. So are you gonna let this beautiful scenery and feel of nature be destroyed by war? Definitely not, so why not enjoy nature and it’s inspiring power. Go out and touch grass, feel the sun, feel the fresh air, go to the trees and experience nature. The track just makes you wanna sit by the river side and let’s you respect power of nature. What’s beautiful about this track is its diverse nature, man you just can’t stop enjoying it, the way it switches midway from its haunting melodies and poetic lyrics, to a more calm and introspective atmosphere to allow the listener to ponder on the lyrics and their relationship with nature. Such a beauty of a track that cautions us about nature and it’s power. Let’s all do better and make the world a better place. The track is just amazing, the switches through cultures, the beats, man, this is creativity at its finest and I must say, the band nailed it.Bringing this beautiful adventure to an end is the self titled track “The World”. This track starts calmly with intricate layers of sounds, calling us all to action to protect the world. We were brought here to live and protect the earth, so why are we destroying it? Are we gonna sit and watch it destroy before we realize it’s consequences? The lyrics with it’s heartfelt delivery lay emphasis on saving the world and making it a better place. It starts from you, around and with you, so be the change and let’s make the world better. As the song progresses with it’s switches and surprises, you hear lines like “holy duty to the planet is to protect its rights,” hinting at the collective power needed to save our planet. It’s a song of hope, self awareness and unity. Such a beautiful way to bring the album to a glorious end. You don’t get these often, so when they do come up, make sure to devour it.
