You know when there’s this song that you loved soo much that you think you will never love another version of it and then boom and remix version sweeps you away with its twist and compositions which doesn’t fully deviate from the original. Now this EP titled RETREADS 1 by 9’Oclock Nasty is what is the real deal. And EP filled with remixes of original tracks that has been reimagined as a bold experiment in the music world by producer Preyswitch. What he did on these remixes is just beyond normality, his ability to turn these recent singles into a more pulsating dance melodies that makes the dancing floor glow is awesome and lively. He has added to fine tunes that makes you wanna grace the dancefloor with those electronic components and techno like beats. Man, it’s just a vibe and I love it.
Kicking the EP off is the first remix track titled “Bad Monkey”. This track , whew 😅 is breathtaking, the way the track takes you and throws you on the dancefloor is crazy. It puts you in this atmosphere where all you care about is the beats and flow of the beats without thinking about your environment, you don’t care about the chaos around, and all you wanna do is dance those chaos off. It allows you to engage the dark corners of nightlife and makes you wanna eat it all up wasted before leaving 😉. The lyrics, however tends to push the song forward and let listeners ride on those infectious pulsating beats while giving them a free will to go crazy and frenzy. The moment you press the play button, you feel Preyswitch’s touch with the way he twisted the original into a more dance melody. Just after you thought the first track is crazy, you’re met with the next remix track titled “Smash, Grab & Go”. That’s how the track is, the beats are crisp and filled with intensity. The energy is unmatched with the track putting you in a world filled with twists. The song makes you feel like a man on steroids, those distorted beats, with its intensified energy captures those short lived moments as it’s smash, grab and go, no need to hold feelings on such nights. It’s like a world collapsing, and there’s another part of it that is not, and you’re in a hurry, no time for sentiments as to how you wish you could take your cats with you when your life is at stake, that’s the kinda vibe this song gives, just grab your shits for the journey and go. Bringing the EP to an end is the remix of the almighty track “Crowland”. A track that brings in a beautiful pace to the EP, as the night is about to end, the DJ puts on songs that’s more introspective but maintains the energy in the room with its gritty nature. A track that asks you to stand up against your fears and fights it with resilient and authority. Sometimes when the night is growing old, it’s where people starts to make sentimental moves, and others also begins to mess around and that is when you need to know that this is a crowland, where if you don’t stand up against your oppressor, you will be devoured. That’s the lyrics of the song, and the beats, whew, just a calm way to end the night and reflect on everything that happened. Now that’s how you make an EP, you give it bits of everything and an arranged in style that will leave your listener coming back for more.
