Mesmonized Drops Bold Protest Track “Song for I K Prisoner 804 Imran Khan”

If you ever feel like most modern music is a bit too shallow, you need to hear what Mesmonized is doing. Based in North West England, this solo producer is making tracks that actually stand for something. His latest single, “Song for I K Prisoner 804 Imran Khan,” isn’t just a catchy tune—it’s a heavy, honest protest song about a national hero currently sitting in a jail cell in Pakistan.

Mesmonized has been sitting on this track since last summer. He recorded it in his own studio, and you can tell it was a labor of love. He finally decided to release it on February 20th because the situation for Imran Khan has become so critical. When you hear about someone losing vision in one eye or being denied a doctor while locked away, it’s hard not to feel something. Mesmonized felt he couldn’t stay silent while the rest of the world looked the other way.

The track itself is really interesting. You can hear the influence of guys like Peter Gabriel and Roger Waters—artists who weren’t afraid to get political. It has a bit of that moody, tense energy you’d find in a Nirvana or Warpaint record. The vocals are super emotive, and the lyrics really pull you into the story of “Prisoner 804.” Even if you don’t know much about Pakistani politics, the sense of injustice in the music is pretty universal.

It’s a bold move to put out a song that explicitly calls out a dictatorship in real time. Mesmonized says he’s proud of it, and he should be. It’s a raw, melodic reminder that democracy is fragile and that music can still be a tool for change. Sometimes we are too passive about standing up for justice forgetting that tomorrow it could be you who will be at the end of a wrong call. Let’s stand up for each other against those men in suit!

If you like your indie rock with a side of social justice and a lot of heart, give this one a listen. It’s a “thought-provoking masterpiece” that proves you don’t need a giant band to make a giant statement. It’s just one guy in a studio in England trying to make sure a hero isn’t forgotten.
