Anwai – 4ever HD Is Raw, Catchy, and Atmospheric
Guys!! You need to check out the Swedish duo Anwai if you’ve ever wondered what happens when two best friends spend over a decade making music together. Well what can we say, Mons Lorenzen and Amadeus have been at this for twelve years now, and honestly, their story is as cool as their sound. I love how they call their style “Trip-pop,” which is a really fun mix of pop, trip-hop, and indietronica. If that sounds familiar, it might be because their track “Move Along” ended up on the Netflix series DeGrassi: The Next Class.

After being quiet since 2019, they finally released a double single called “4ever HD” on March 27, 2026. It turns out that both of them became fathers last year, and that life change gave them the spark they needed to get back in the studio. They don’t call this a comeback, though. They see it as just another chapter of a road they’ve been walking for ten years.
Their recording process is hilariously relatable. They use what they call “ghetto setups” at home, bouncing files back and forth between different software like Logic and Ableton. The best part? They did the final mixing at a local pub. You can really hear that DIY, personal touch in the music. It feels raw and honest, not like something polished in a million-dollar studio until all the life is squeezed out of it.
The first track on the double single is Something New. It feels like a fresh start. It has that signature “Trip-pop” vibe—catchy enough to be pop, but with those moody, spaced-out beats that keep it interesting. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to drive through a city at night. You can tell they’ve grown up, but they haven’t lost that spark that made people notice them back in 2014.
The second track is FLWRS. This one is a bit more laid back and atmospheric. It really leans into the indietronica side of things. It’s soft, a little bit shy, and very beautiful. It feels like the musical version of a long talk with an old friend. The way the melodies layer over each other shows just how much their chemistry has evolved after twelve years of friendship.
They joke about “getting old” now that they’ve hit the twelve-year mark, but the music sounds more energized than ever. These two tracks are hopefully just the start of a much bigger project. If you like music that feels like it was made by real people with real lives, Anwai is a perfect choice. Go give “4ever HD” a listen. It’s a great reminder that even when life gets busy with kids and “adulting,” the creative flame doesn’t have to go out.
