“Mother of Dawn” Is a Dark, Cinematic Masterpiece from Inception of Eternity

Wait, how do you like your music? Are you fan of metal music? Or you’re just new to it? Of you’re new, you will become a fan after listening to this piece. Before that, would you like your metal with a side of orchestral drama, or would you prefer it when bands just stick to the loud guitars and leave the violins at home? Well you’re in for a treat here, so if you are into music that sounds like it belongs in the climax of a dark fantasy movie, you have to hear “Mother of Dawn.” It is the newest single from a group called Inception of Eternity, and man, they are not playing around.

But they’ve got a story here, the thing is they’ve been away for about four years, and guess what happened? Well they came back with a new singer named Angela, and I must admit, she’s a fucking powerhouse. Most of their stuff is a wild mix of techno, gothic metal, and even some rock, but they decided to do something totally different here. What they did here is really intriguing, they went straight-up symphonic metal ballad and I must say, it a catch. What I love about this track is, there’s no weird genre-bending this time—just pure, raw drama infused.

The whole vibe of the song is pretty intense. It’s supposed to be the voice of nature talking back to us. Not the nice “birds chirping in a park” nature, but the “ancient and scary” kind that reminds us who is really in charge. And this is what makes the track more unique and enjoyable.

Something here that I love more is how the track builds up. It starts out quiet and a bit haunting. Then Angela’s voice comes in fragile at first, like she’s whispering a secret and the moment the orchestra kicks in, the song just explodes into this wholesome ballad that you can’t deny it entry than to fall for it and let it consume you. It has these massive climaxes that make you feel like you’re standing on the edge of a cliff in a thunderstorm. It is dark and emotional, but it doesn’t feel cheesy. It feels like a story is being told.

What’s cool is that they intentionally stripped away all the modern techno stuff they usually do. They wanted this one to feel timeless and epic and to me, it’s perfect and very smart. It’s a bold move, but it really works because it lets the vocals and the big strings do all the talking. Do you know the best part??

Well this is just a teaser for their full album coming out in June. So just imagine what the rest of the record has. But the thing is, even if it’s got half the energy of this single, it is going to be a heavy hitter. It’s the kind of music that makes you want to wear a long black coat and walk dramatically through a graveyard. It’s definitely a change of pace, but it shows they can do more than just make people dance to metal-core beats. They can actually pull at your heartstrings too.
