Krey Galin – “My Plan”: The Multilingual Pop EP That Was Ahead of Its Time

Have you ever had a sneak peek into your archives or closet and sound something you bought some years ago and realize it’s even more cooler now than you bought it back then I think sometimes good ideas arrive a little too early for the rest of the world. You write something simple, put it on the back burner, and watch the entire music industry slowly catch up to the exact vibe you were cooking in the studio years ago. That is the kinda story behind “My Plan“, the seven-track EP from Recife, Brazil artist Krey Galin.

The EP was originally written in Georgia alongside songwriter Emerson back when it was just considered a standard pop project, the record sat and aged like fine wine. What happened was that, after a while, as Asian pop trends took over global charts, everyone that listened to the tracks on the EP started saying the same thing, this record had a massive K-pop feel before K-pop even exploded worldwide. And here we are today, K-pop everywhere.

No music is quite easy to listen to on the first listen, but “My Plan” makes it so and that’s because of its bright, pristine studio production and incredibly tight pop hooks. It’s good to note that this was recorded in Georgia with a team of Brazilian studio artists, who actually skipped a lot of messy over polishing and complicated arrangements in favor of sharp electronic beats, bouncy synth lines, and crystal-clear vocal tracks. Love the punch in the drums, the driving rhythm that keeps your feet tapping, the slick synth chords that gives the whole project this beautiful glossy, radio-ready finish.

I must say this, maybe it’s just me, but I think because the songs were allowed to mature naturally over time without being rushed out to chase a short trend, the production feels surprisingly timeless. It balances slick international pop production with a fun, lightweight bounce that feels built for summer playlists and easy listening. The cool thing about this EP is how it takes one great pop idea and translates it across different languages and international styles so they everyone can enjoy something from the EP.

The title track “My Plan” welcomes us with its infectious, high-energy pop rhythm. You’ve got vivid synth riffs and punchy drum beats giving support to the smooth lead vocal that lays out a story about having a clear vision for the future and refusing to let distractions get in the way. This track is confident and very motivating, urging you to trust your own roadmap, build the future you want and make sure there are no distractions. Then comes “Nae Gyehoek“, which leans directly into those K-pop sensibilities with sharp vocal timing and crisp rhythm tracks. The beat is steady, bouncy and has a good tempo about it, whilst the lyrics focus on international connection and shared goals, showing how a great melody works no matter what language you sing it in.

Meus Planos” brings things back to Krey Galin’s Brazilian roots, this Portuguese take adds a warmer, more relaxed feel to the main groove. The bassline feels a little rounder, and the vocal delivery carries a smooth, conversational charm about sticking to your dreams alongside the people who matter most. Which is true anyway, cos sometimes when you try to incorporate outsiders in your dreams, the load will become too much and might weigh you down. I love how “Mai Puran” keeps the catchy core melody intact while playing with subtle synth textures and snappy drum fills. It’s all about perseverance here, reminding listeners that having a solid plan is the best way to handle life when things get chaotic around you, cos a life without a plan looks too broad to fulfill.

On this version “Wo de Jihua“, he slicked up the arrangement with crisp electronic percussion, giving listeners a more global feel as well, and this track actually highlights the global reach of the project. The bright synth layers ring out clearly, delivering an upbeat themes about taking control of your own destiny and taking steps forward every single day. “Phlaen Khong Chan” brings a unique vocal flow to the driving pop beat. The instruments stay tight and energetic, creating a fun, bouncy background for a story about staying true to your original vision even when people doubt what you are building.

To every beautiful journey, there’s also a high end to it, and this track “My PlanRemix” does that. It closes the EP with a high-powered remix that turns the original track up for the dance floor. Armed with heavier bass drops, faster drum patterns, and chopped vocal samples, this version turns the motivational message of the original song into a full-on celebratory anthem.

What can I say? Flipping the same track over and over to give us different feel, energy and vibe is something only talent can do. And this is what Krey Galin has given us, a fun, surprisingly ahead-of-its-time project with “My Plan“. It’s a catchy, multi-language pop EP that proves good songwriting never gets old, it just waits for the right moment to shine. What you waiting for? Hop on this bright, global pop hooks with an undeniable bounce.
