The songs on “Across The Acheron” are special because they come from deep inside Matyascorvinus. They talk about hard times, like feeling alone and dealing with the tough challenges life throws at us. This EP is like a journey from the dark into the light.
One cool thing is that this EP’s inspiration comes from the very first trip to Antarctica in 1897. Back then, people were super brave (and maybe a little crazy) to explore such a wild place. Matyascorvinus wanted to make music that’s like a time machine, taking us back to that era. It’s got some spooky and challenging feelings, just like the old days of polar exploration. This EP is also a reminder of something very important: we don’t live forever. That might sound a bit sad but Matyascorvinus doesn’t want us to be sad. This amazing group here have got an interesting journey worth sharing. They started with a small guitar called ukulele. They read about it and thought, “Hey, this could be fun!” So they got one and soon, they were making beautiful music. Matyascorvinus used to play the big guitar a long time ago but they forgot how to read the notes and all that tricky stuff. It sounds like classical music but it’s different, they have got their own special way of playing that guitar with their hands of which they never forgot.
As time went by, Matyascorvinus felt like the ukulele was too small for their big ideas. So they switched to the regular guitar. At first, they played it like the ukulele, using the same chords. Matyascorvinus did something exciting because they didn’t follow all the boring rules about notes and chords. Instead, they used their feelings and their gut to make music that’s pretty and calm.
