2 min read

You ready to jump on some crazy mad tunes from Dial Drive? Well get that crazy attitude on and let’s roll. After a four-year wait, Orlando’s punk scene stalwarts, Dial Drive, are back with their long-anticipated second album, “Burning Bridges.” Following up their 2019 debut, “Wasted Time,” this release promises to be a dynamic testament to their enduring punk spirit and showcases a broad range of influences from the alternative and punk genres. Dial Drive comprises of Jake LeDrew on Guitar/Vocals, Nate Durazzo on Guitar/Vocals, and Billy Morrissey on Drums. Their journey began in early 2017, birthed from the ashes of raucous house parties, where the seeds of punk rebellion were sown.

While drawing inspiration from punk legends like Alkaline Trio, NOFX, Taking Back Sunday, and Pennywise, Dial Drive’s sound is a spirited blend of punk’s rebellious ethos and alternative’s melodious edge. These road warriors are no strangers to the stage. They’ve become a fixture at FEST in Gainesville for four consecutive years and embark on around 100 live shows annually, proving their dedication to punk’s live energy.

The album channels the frustration and anger of the pandemic era into a set of songs that are noticeably angrier than their previous releases. Perhaps the COVID era played a role in this, but it’s evident Dial Drive wanted to deliver a dynamic collection that encapsulates their favorite styles. “Burning Bridges” takes listeners on a loud ride through themes of loss, frustration, and shameless partying. The album opener, “Wake Up”, sets the tone with its explosive energy and catchy hooks. “Falling Down” stands out as a punk anthem, while “Bury Me” delves into the introspective side of punk, showcasing the band’s versatility.

Recorded in Orlando, FL, the album was produced by the band alongside Brooks Paschal and Brandon Bikoff. Their collaborative effort has resulted in a polished yet raw production that highlights each instrument’s vigor. According to Dial drive, they been “F**ing sh*t up since 2017!”. “Burning Bridges” is more than just an album; it’s a fiery resurgence of punk rock in its purest form. Dial Drive has managed to evolve their sound while staying true to their roots, creating an album that not only lives up to the hype but also surpasses it.

This release cements Dial Drive’s position in the punk scene and leaves us eagerly awaiting their next explosive venture.
