Ever enjoyed a garage rock soo much that you wanted the whole neighborhood to hear you? Haha see you don’t get many of them as good as this one from Pork Pie, the Irish contemporary alternative rock band. Tell you what? They are back and this time what they have for us is mind blowing and actually crazy as well and I f**k with it. They titled this one is “Careful As You Go,” a song released as teaser to their upcoming album, “Golden Leaf Sheets.” So now you have something to look out for too. Well you may not be familiar with Pork Pie, but tell you what, this dynamic quartet, consisting of Shane Brett on drums, Michael Laverty on bass, Michael Stafford on vocals, guitar, and saxophone, and Peter Laverty on lead guitar, is known for their eclectic sound, blending elements of garage rock, funk, and psychedelia into their own unique style. Now the song which was recorded in Dundalk’s Lockup Recording Studio and engineered by Pete Rust with mastering by Fergal Davis, “Careful As You Go” just demonstrates Pork Pie’s signature sound with a twist. To me this song with its infectious groove and catchy hooks, just becomes an outright banger and fans favorite at Pork Pie’s live performances. Because there’s no way this song will pop on the stage and you not gonna rock your feet to its rhythms and melodies, whew, you can’t catch your breath with this one, it’s a vibe, catchy, energetic and lovely, so there ain’t no way you staying on your feet when the song is played. And trust me, at any festival or event with Pork Pie, it’s just gonna be crazy and amazing live performance, cos they possess that vibe and energy to match it, as it’s evident in this song. If you listen to this carefully you’d realize how Pork Pie as a band has come, they have grown and shower consistently that they can do it, so I have no doubt fans of garage rock, blues, and alternative rock alike will appreciate the band’s effort to infuse genres and the energy and drive that comes with this single.
