GIANFRANCO GFN Brings Life and Rhythm Together on “GIOMANÈ”
Lotta the time, for we listeners, we would want to hear music from our favorite all the time, but sometimes we forget the amount of energy, dedication and hard work the artist put in, just to give us their very best. Even for singles, they aren’t easy not to talk of album and that’s why GIANFRANCO GFN has been busy. Two years busy. The kind of busy where ideas pile up, musicians fly in from different places, and coffee probably becomes a food group. The result is GIOMANÈ, his fifth album, and it feels like a personal diary that learned how to groove through 13 tracks.
Gianfranco who is based in Bienne, Switzerland, crafted an album that doesn’t sit still. What makes it enjoyable is how the album was recorded in parts and in different places. Some parts were in Switzerland, with the horns coming in from the Ivory Coast, and the final nail hit in Italy. It sounds like a lot of travel, but trust me, it very evident in the away each song explodes. You can feel the variety of every touch of each place in here without each over shadowing the other. I love how everything feels alive and played by real people, it gives it an honest feel and a real vibe that is non-existent in today’s music.

The album welcomes everyone with the track “Sing The Song“. This opener sets the tone right away. It is warm, upbeat, and welcoming. It feels like an invitation rather than a statement. The groove is relaxed but confident, like someone saying, “Trust me, I’ve done this before.” Then you’re soo intrigued by it and curious to see what the next song has to offer.
Taking listeners into a funky dreamy world is the next track “In My Dreams“. This comes in at the right time, it slows things down a bit and takes you by surprise with those funky elements and dreamy melodies. It has a softer touch and a reflective mood. This one feels like late-night thinking when your brain won’t just let you rest.
Now something beautiful here is how this track walks straight into action with those trumpets and horns coming in like they announcing someone. “Doctor Wind” brings a change in energy. There is motion here, a sense of push and pull. It feels playful but focused, like a breeze that suddenly knows where it wants to go.
Listeners are now taken into the “Supernatural” world on this track. The song leans into funk and soul without stressing, I love how smooth and confident it is. While listening , you can tell it was fun making this track, you can almost hear the musicians smiling at each other through the speakers. And that’s the kinda joy the song brings.
Another song that doesn’t miss is “Soft”. I think this song is exactly what it sounds like, but not in a boring way. It is gentle and controlled, with space to breathe. This track feels personal, like it was written for quiet moments rather than big rooms. It is soft but doesn’t slow down, there’s no dull moment here. You know that moment where after several times of seeing or meeting people, there’s always that one woman that will take your breath away. Like there’s some sort of softness in them that makes you even softer, that you fall in love with them instantly. Exactly, I love the upbeat in here, the storytelling is silky smooth and makes the whole listening experience lively.
“Saigon” adds a sense of travel and color. The rhythm has a subtle bounce, and the mood feels cinematic without being dramatic. It suggests places and stories without spelling them out.
“My Sunday Morning” is relaxed and comforting. It feels like slow coffee, no alarms, and no plans. If this song were a day, it would definitely let you sleep in. “Boulevard de l’amour ‘Fall in Love” brings romance without going over the top. It feels classy and sincere. There is charm here, the kind that does not try too hard.
The album closes with “Jumping Around”, which ends things on a lively note. It feels loose, fun, and full of movement. A good closer that leaves you in a good mood instead of gently pushing you out the door.
What makes GIOMANÈ work is its honesty. No politics. No big speeches. Just stories, feelings, and a strong sense of rhythm. Everything was built step by step, starting from guitar and growing naturally. You can hear the care in the details.
GIANFRANCO GFN has created his own space with this album. He calls it GIAZZ, and it fits. It blends soul, pop, funk, blues, and jazz without forcing anything. It sounds like someone who knows exactly what they like and is not interested in chasing trends.
GIOMANÈ feels lived in, played through, and shared openly. It is the kind of album that gets better the more time you spend with it. And if groove really is part of life, as Gianfranco says, this album proves he is paying attention. Now just imagine this masterpiece, who wouldn’t want more of something this beautiful, natural, polished and above all addicting.
