Matthias Lindner Releases Neoclassical Single “Nenya”
Do you sometimes sit and think about how people put together guitar notes for classical sounds? To me it’s a magical and ma man here Matthias Lindner is a guy who clearly doesn’t believe in writer’s block. Living in Lower Saxony, Germany, this classical guitar player has written over 400 pieces. Yes, 400. While most of us are struggling to finish a grocery list, Matthias is over there hand-writing guitar notes in the middle of the night. His latest release, “Nenya,” dropped on January 9, 2026, and it’s the perfect soundtrack for when the world is being way too loud.

The single is actually a collection of three pieces written for two guitars. If the name “Nenya” sounds familiar, it’s because Matthias is a fan of The Lord of the Rings. It’s named after Galadriel’s ring, which makes total sense once you hear it. The music has that silky, calm feel that makes you think of elves and ancient forests, rather than traffic jams and taxes.
What I find cool about his process is how old-school it is. He went into a top-tier studio near Brunswick, sat down with his concert guitar and two microphones, and just played. No computer magic or fake sounds here—just a guy, some strings, and a sound engineer. It gives the music a very real, human feel that you don’t get much these days.
Matthias likes to say that music washes the dust of everyday life off your soul, and he’s not wrong. “Nenya” is peaceful and a bit introspective. It’s neoclassical, which is a fancy way of saying it’s sophisticated but you don’t need a music degree to enjoy it. Some of these pieces have actually been in the works for 20 years, so you’re hearing two decades of patience in every note. He’s already got over 100 tracks on Spotify and plans to release something new every single month. So if you need to calm your brain down after a long day, this is exactly what you should be listening to. As Matthias puts it: “Don’t look for my music outside. It’s inside you.”
