Life is a gift to us all, but as to how we gonna make the best of it is to put in our efforts and wait for the results. Can we manipulate the results? Maybe but in the end I’ve got Michael Lyon here who is a one man band to share his experience about life to us on his latest album “What Could Be”. Yes you can’t change the results but you can let things be as they want to be and they may be the best solution to life. Michael Lyon doesn’t just sing, he writes the songs and plays all the instruments on this album wow, that’s how talented he is and the dedication he put in his works.
The lockdown really did us good musically, and this album is a testament to that. It got the best out of artist and also pushed people to go beyond their limits and believe in themselves. Lyon who gets his inspirations from acts like The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Cat Stevens, Neil Young, Jim Croce, Paul Simon, Everly Brothers, and even Mozart, helps him in blending a lot of genres to get his work refined and unique. The album which is Lyon’s fourth album since 2015, is a 14 track album that has diverse range of tracks for everyone. It takes us through the process of life, but I’m gonna take you on a sharp rollercoaster ride through 3 of them tracks.
The track that starts and sparks the album to life is Sunrise. A beautiful song that greets us with a new beginning and a fresh start. It’s a song that captures the beauty of nature and urges us to forget our worries and say good bye to the darkness cos a new bright day is here. The lyrics were beautifully crafted by Lyon to send a message that resonates with the listener. Let the sunrise give you the energy to carry you through whatever you going through, if it’s gone start afresh with an energy like a new day. The song indeed is an eye opener to a beautiful album and sets the album on the right mood for the listener to enjoy.
Another beautiful track that captures listeners at first glance is Love. In this track Lyon just talks about how love becomes the universal force that bind us all together. We all were birthed out of love from two people except of course otherwise, lots of us are in existence because two people fell on loved sometime ago. And that’s all this song is about, the beauty and smiles on our faces when love is in the air. The song celebrate love and should be one track you shouldn’t miss on the album.
Ending to what a journey it’s been with the album is self titled track “What Could Be”. This particular song is refreshing, has the energy and comes in with the vibes to imagine what each day could be. The lyircs goes clear as to why we can’t force things but rather let it be as it want to be. Embrace the possibilities, dream and put in your effort and let what could be to be knowing you did your best. It’s a song that’s really relatable and captivating.
