Michellar Unveils Intimate Version of “LOVE PEACE WAR”
Sometimes the people we care much about don’t even realize what we also go through, but then we need to put our war inside us aside and be there for those we can. And this sometimes makes us lost in our own world. Regardless of our efforts going unnoticed, we need to go e them the peace they need and pray all goes well for them. Well Michellar just released an acoustic remix of her song “LOVE PEACE WAR,” and it feels like a warm hug from a very worried friend, and sometimes that’s all we need. That kinda hug that heals all your pain, take away all your sorrows and make you feel comfortable.
Based in San Francisco, Michellar is basically the comeback kid of the year. She started writing songs at 15, took a casual 40-year break, and then suddenly caught fire again in 2023. Since then, she’s been on a tear, releasing 22 singles in just nine months. I can barely finish a book in nine months, so that’s pretty impressive.

This new track, dropped on February 13, 2026, was born out of the heavy feelings she had watching the start of the war in Ukraine. She sat in her bedroom and channeled all that frustration about greed and hate into her lyrics. You can really hear the influence of legends like Bob Dylan and John Lennon here. She wanted that raw, 1960s folk sound where the message matters more than the fancy studio tricks.
She teamed up with local producer Robi Bean in El Cerrito to keep things simple and real. There are no loud drums or crazy effects—just an acoustic guitar and a voice that sounds like it has seen a few things. It’s got that old-school Haight-Ashbury vibe that makes you want to wear a flower in your hair and protest something.
The song talks about the tug-of-war between the bad stuff humans do and the hope that keeps us from falling apart. The men in suit are the ones that benefit from war, but we the locals suffers the most. So are we gonna sit and watch them use us against us? When in the end it’s still gonna be us who will have to be there for each other. If a brother is going through it, give them a hug and let them feel better. Michellar uses a great quote from Rumi about how there is treasure to be found in ruins, which fits the mood perfectly.
This single is actually a sneak peek for her upcoming EP called “Homegrown,” which is coming out late this summer. If you like music that feels like a conversation on a porch rather than a polished product from a corporate office, this is definitely worth a listen. It’s honest, a little bit sad, but mostly just full of heart.
