More Return With Explosive Album Destructor

If you think heavy metal is just a young person’s game, you clearly haven’t met the guys from MORE. These London legends have been around since 1979, and after surviving forty years of lineup changes and the loss of three band members, they are finally back with their third album, “Destructor”. It is a massive, fist-pumping slab of British heavy metal that proves some things really do get better with age.

The backstory of this record is pretty wild. It was the final project produced by the legendary Chris Tsangarides, the same guy who worked with Judas Priest and Thin Lizzy. He actually played guitar on these tracks before he passed away in 2018. RIP to him. For a while, the mixes were just sitting on old studio equipment until bassist Baz Nicholls rescued them on a USB drive. Talk about a close call.

The album kicks off with “Hearts On Fire“, and it doesn’t waste any time. It’s a heavy, driving anthem about the fight against cancer and the human will to keep going. It’s exactly the kind of opener Chris wanted for the record—loud, fast, and full of grit. Then you get “Rocquiem”, which keeps that classic energy flowing right into “Scream”, a track that pretty much does what the title suggests.

As you move through the middle of the album, “New World” and the title track “Destructor” show off that “Vortex” guitar sound Chris was famous for. It’s thick, crushing, and sounds like a wall of sound hitting you in the chest. “Spirits Of War” is another standout, and the band is actually filming a full video for it later this month. It’s got that old-school NWOBHM spirit but feels totally fresh for 2026.

By the time you hit “Immortal” and “My Obsession”, you can tell these guys aren’t just trying to relive their glory days. They are genuinely making great new music. “Wolf Behind Your Eyes” has a darker, moodier atmosphere before the album closes out with a track simply titled “More”. It feels like a victory lap for a band that refused to quit.

The band is hitting the road in May, starting at the Cart and Horses in London—the same place Iron Maiden started. If you like your metal honest, brutal, and steeped in history, “Destructor” is a must-listen. It’s a perfect tribute to a legendary producer and a hell of a comeback for a band that has seen it all.
