Sometimes when ya ain’t in someone’s shoes you don’t feel what they feel and sometimes it’s not like they wanna do what they did but there’s nobody to hold them, talk to them and be there for them. Mental health ain’t an easy issue to deal with but Ollie Twohill who stands as the creative force in the music world has got this beautiful single out titled “Stifled” and I haven’t heard a better song that speaks on the issue beautifully with its melodious tunes than this one. Ollie serves as a one-man band, he does it all and that should tell you the dedication, skill and talent he posses, from vocals, guitar, a stomp box, and a high-hat cymbal.
Ollie’s 17 years musical journey is one to be proud of, a journey that started at the age of 7. His music has many diverse range of influences from artist like Story So Far, Neck Deep, Foo Fighters, and Green Day. All this contribute to Ollie’s rich range of sounds and emotions. Now “Stifled,” his latest single, talks about the challenges in dealing with mental health and the struggles that comes with it and how to clear the thoughts of suicide away. The song which kickstart with those guitar strings hits off with the drums and boom Ollie’s vocals takes centre stage with those beautiful crafted lyrics. It’s a song that also shares Ollie’s personal experiences of hitting rock bottom where he transformed negative emotions into a powerful call for help.
