What an amazing early Christmas present for fans of Pagan Lust. After waiting for what feels like a decade, Pagan Lust has finally released their second studio album titled “Commie Salami Mommie” which talks about societal norms and how complex human experience really is. Made up of Burn Moor delivering Vocals, HardCore on the Lead Guitar, Byron Church on Drums and Rick Brough on Bass Guitar, Pagan Lust has been making quite the name for themselves with their unique style of making music. Influenced by different musical backgrounds like rock, metal, punk, jazz and blues, Pagan Lust makes music that sounds way different from what you’d normally listen to. Man their drums, beats, guitars wow, I’m super impressed beyond expectations that alone makes the album even super juicy without adding the message every song has haha. You can’t teach talent either you have it or not and this band is overloaded.
Pagan Lust has been making a name for themselves all over the world with their perfomances and live shows and recently had a guest interview on UK Radio. Their new album “Commie Salami Mommie” which was actually brought to life at FTM Studios in Lakewood, CO, shows the real talent of the band and it’s frigging insane. As i mentioned earlier, this album talks about how society really is and what we see and go through as humans throughout our lives. From the very first song on the album to the last song, this album talks about a whole lot indeed.
The very first song on my list is “Public Opinion”. This song is just…i don’t even have enough words to describe it. This song talks about rejecting societal norms and standing up against the idea that society and everyone should be controlled by the elites and the beats and the lyrics of the song perfectly sends this message. On a scale of 1-10, I’d definitely say this song is a 10 with no hesitation.
Next, we have “Mother”. This song talks about misery and insecurity and as the song goes on, the lyrics talks about the impact parents have on the lives of children and how mistakes parents make can and will be repeated by their kids if they become parents as well. This is a song with a very powerful message you have to listen to.
And finally we have the song that closes the album, “Malady”. This a very emotional song that talks about the challenges people face with mental health, the battles we fight within ourselves and how people really wanna be saved. The message this song sends will touch your heart and the lyrics are so real that a lot of listeners understand and relate to it.
“Commie Salami Mommie” is an album you’ll enjoy from top to bottom. Pagan Lust’s ability to combine different genres to make something this good is beyond understanding.
