“REVELATION” BY THE NEUROMANIACS: A HAUNTING TALE OF CREATION AND DESTRUCTION

4 min read

How our world is going I don’t know if I would be happy if I created the world and I don’t think you would either. Now imagine a world you created that was filled with joy, tolerance, peace, truthfulness and faithfulness and now you return to see the same world plagued with diseases, racism, bitterness, backstabbing, corruption and everything evil you can think of, are you gonna destroy that world? Or you gonna patch it up again? And now imagine this mindset crafted into a movie and played along with some haunting melodies and beats to narrate or show you how everything happened. That’s what The Neuromaniacs band have crafted and polished on their latest single titled “Revelation.” And wow, there’s levels to this creativity shit, the way they infused those musical elements to to be able to narrate such a story is indeed remarkable. Well unless you don’t know them, then the Band comprises of Johnny Brewer (all instruments), who did the recording in his house, wrote the lyrics, engineered it, mastered and mixed everything himself to produce this heavy Rock, Electronic Rock, Cinematic, EDM masterpiece for us to enjoy. And I don’t need to tell you what you’re in for, just look at the level of dedication and talent on show here and tell me we are not in for a feast.

You may be wondering his roots, but yeah he came from the blue rocks roots of Johnny & The Brewsers, and now he’s in a new solo project, The Neuromaniacs, who ventures into uncharted musical territory with their single “Revelation.” Now this track “Revelation” is a beautiful and ambitious track that goes on to tell the story of an omnipotent being who paid a visit to his long-forgotten creation, only to find it consumed with greed, corruption, and misguided worship. The song has minimal lyrics, but the few flashes capture a sense of disillusionment and horror as the creator see with his own eyes what his creation is causing to what he created. The destruction, the bitterness, war here and there, life’s being lost and people going against each other broke him and caused him a lots of regrets and soaked in deep emotions. The song which has a range influences from top dawgs like John Frusciante, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Modest Mouse, and Arcade Fire, Brewer has really created a beautiful sound that is as captivating and intriguing. The song starts beautifully with these haunting vocals blending in with those electronic guitar riffs infused with those rocky drums, mixed with some electronic drums as and the synths laying behind to give the track that haunting atmosphere. The song’s atmosphere consumes the listener and transports them into the imagined world where the creator they become the creator and watches the destruction his creation is causing. What’s beautiful about the song is the music video that comes with it, not only does it helps the listener to get the message of the song, but it’s creativity is top notch, the presence of soldiers going to war with each other also hints at our world which is currently facing wars from some parts, then again while watching you get to see the results of war and destruction, living people homeless and helpless. Then you can see how the elites join hands to create destruction for their people and they sit in their offices and enjoy their money while the people suffers. Wow, that’s some beautiful video right there, the storyline, storytelling with just sounds, intriguing and beautiful. I love it and it’s amazing. Stand up for yourself, don’t let the elites destroy our world, don’t let your oppressor devour you, get up on your feet and seek better for the world.

Well Revelation by The Neuromaniacs is just a masterpiece. The way Brewer blended those heavy rocks with those EDM beats, then crafted the rest of the elements to be in sync to give the listener an immersive experience, that’s crazy and amazing. Not many of these creations comes off good, but this one here, is the epitome of creativity and innovation. Bravo Brewer you nailed, and I love it. Well in case you don’t know, he’s got more in the pipeline, so why don’t you go ahead and give this one a listen while we await for what’s to come. ENJOY!!
