REVERIE ….FROM THEN TILL NOW by Michellar:An Album Made From Time, Patience, and Nerves
Not many albums are able to wow you the first time you listen to them, some takes time to grow on you and then there’s are some that just are soo good they just hit you right away. Such an album is what “REVERIE ….FROM THEN TILL NOW” by Michellar feels like. The album feels like someone finally turning the lights back on after a long break. Not in a dramatic way. More like, “Oh yeah, I remember this room. I like it here.” This album comes from years of living, working, waiting, and then suddenly doing what you love doing (writing again).
Now the interesting thing about the album is also the artist. Michellar who grew up around folk music and family sing-alongs, stepped away for decades, built a whole other life, and then came back to songwriting like she never really left. And this makes the album soo much different, like you can feel the blends of different aspects of life in it, I love the honesty the album comes with. The calmness, like hey it’s okay, just sit, relax and listen to something good. Relieve your emotions, breath, have fun and enjoy those moments and memories.
Welcoming listeners into the new year is the track “It’s Another Year“. This track opens the album in a reflective way. It brings this feeling like standing at the start of a new calendar and promising yourself you’ll do better this time. Or at least try. You can feel the hope, the optimism and the sense of belonging in here. Then those melodious country elements just sweeps you off your feet and sends you into this atmosphere of reflection and purpose.
The next track “Running Wild” picks things up a bit. The way this track starts is just mesmerizing, the way those vocals comes in and say hey, it’s time let’s go, then those country-Anericana beats kicks in with energy without losing control. It feels like freedom, but the grown-up kind where you still pay your bills. The collaboration here works well, and the song has a sense of movement that makes you want to take a long walk and think about life choices. The energy in here makes it a perfect song for your road trips, it just does it effortlessly.

Another track that makes the story telling interesting is the track “Intersection”. A song that is about timing and connection. The idea that two people meet and something changes forever. It feels gentle and thoughtful, like remembering a moment that still matters years later. This song doesn’t over-explain itself, which is a good thing. I love the energy in here, more like a track you can dance to in a dreamy way, where you wanna have that beautiful moment with your special someone. It’s such a beauty of a song that doesn’t over do.
Like I said “Promise” continues that story. It feels like a late-night song, written when sleep was ignored and coffee was overused. There’s commitment here, but also vulnerability. This feels genuinely emotional, like those moments you promised your love one that no matter what, nothing will separate you. There’s a sense of a promise unfulfilled, the one where it hurts and you wish it didn’t.
“September” brings this afternoon feels and very nostalgic without being sad. The song pans out like memory, the good parts and the ache mixed together. Like its that time of the year again and I just can’t forget everything that happened, especially when you say your goodbyes. There’s a hidden gem on the album, the track “Never Say Sorry“. Man, this one has some confidence, just hit the play button and experience the magic.
The “Letter” is deeply personal. It sounds like something that had to be written, even if it was uncomfortable. The emotion here is controlled, not dramatic. It trusts the listener to feel it without being pushed.
“Reverie” is the heart of the album. Calm, reflective, and open. This song feels like peace after a long internal argument. The kind of peace you don’t rush because you’re afraid it might leave. The album closes with “The Star”, which feels like a quiet ending rather than a big finale. It leaves space. It doesn’t shout goodbye. It just lets the album rest.
“REVERIE ….FROM THEN TILL NOW” is not about perfection. It’s about return. About finding your voice again after years of silence and realizing it still works just fine. Michellar didn’t rush this album, and she didn’t hide behind noise. She told her story song by song. What I love about the album is how it brings this zeal and energy that it’s never too late to start again, restart or finally finish what you began years ago. And to me, it might be the best message to start the year with. So why don’t you go ahead and enjoy this masterpiece by Michellar.
