Richard Green’s “Just Different” :A Quiet Song for Anyone Who Ever Felt Out of Place

Life is beautiful and strange at the same time that sometimes it makes us wonder if everyone’s like that or it just us. Son, I’ve got to say it but each to their own, there may be similarities here and there but we all ain’t the same. This message is what Richard Green has crafted in a beautiful piano melody that calms you, keeps you confident and tells you it’s okay to be “Just Different“. The beauty of the song is how it knows it will get your attention sooner or later. Whether you’re prepared for it or not, it’s just different.

One thing is, in as much as the track came out in 2022, it still feels fresh. Maybe that’s because feeling “different” never really goes out of style. And Richard Green just taps into that awkward teenage phase where nothing fits, including your own thoughts. You feel like how’s everyone doing it? Like what’s soo different about me that I can’t, things is sometimes we just different and we have something that others too can’t. The same way you feel, others also feel same, we’ve all been there. Some of us are still there, just with better shoes.

I love how the song blends classical parts with touches of blues and jazz. It sounds fancy on paper, but it feels very human when you hear it. The piano work by Irene Veneziano is gentle but sharp when it needs to be. The string section by the Archimia Quartet adds emotion without going full drama movie mode. You don’t get them good as this anymore, without a single word uttered, you can feel the message right in your veins. The gentleness with the piano melodies, how it lifts off and calms down just to tell you about how it’s all not the same.

Patience is key here, the track takes its time, like it is thinking out loud. You can hear the tension between feeling out of place and slowly accepting that being different is not a flaw. It is more like a feature you did not know how to use yet. And that’s what makes this track unique, the ability of it to keep you glued, pass it message and gets you hooked to it is magnificent.

What makes “Just Different” work is restraint. Green does not overplay. He lets the music breathe. The jazz and blues hints sneak in quietly, like they do not want to interrupt the classical setting. It is smooth, but not sleepy. Thoughtful, but not heavy. The track just lets you know, not different, just different. Like saying, “Relax, it’s fine.” So why the stress?

This track is part of Richard Green’s larger trilogy project called “A Journey”, and it makes sense. This feels like the chapter where you question everything and then realize maybe nothing is actually broken. And you’re just being mean to yourself, which is unhealthy.

Well this track “Just Different” hits different, it makes you understand the basics of life and let’s you live without thinking you’re different but instead you’re just different. So why don’t you go ahead and give this track a listen and enjoy a masterpiece crafted from Richard Green.
