“THE COUNCIL OF RATS” BY THE SUBURBAN BICYCLE GANG: A POWERFUL ANTHEM AGAINST THE ELITES GREED AND SOCIETAL DECAY

I don’t know till when people are gonna realize how the elites thirst for power is plaguing our beautiful world. Societies are now changing and shifting for anything and it’s getting worse, people don’t even care about each other again, all they wanna do is get what they want without thinking about the consequences others will get because of their actions. Well this greediness, thirst for power and how it’s changing our society is what The Suburban Bicycle Gang, even though one of it’s members(Dave Fox) has left, is still continuing their journey and now they’re back with a new song titled “The Council of Rats” that speaks about this narrative. The song which was actually recorded live off the floor with very little overdubs, is an incredible rock song that delivers a very powerful messages to listeners.
Now this song The Council of Rats is a beautiful song that lay emphasis on how society is changing for the worse and how the elites who rule the world are slowly leading the world to it’s destruction. Now our society tend to heed to what those in power says and try to force them on our necks. But back then, the society was the one which gathered it members and stood against people in power, but now cos of greediness everyone is just looking to smuggle their way up and don’t even think of others. What are we doing to our society? Are we gonna let the society decide our fate? Are gonna sit down and let people control our lives? Are we gonna sit there and let injustice rule over our society? What happened to solidarity and equality? Are the marginalized communities going to keep getting ignored and undeveloped? Or we gonna stand up and fight for the better? Cos if we don’t start coming together as a society to fight for what’s right, the next years ahead are gonna be brutal for survival and this is something we can’t let it happen. So get up, stand up to your oppressors and let them know they can’t control our life and tell us what to do, let them know who the real power belongs to and march on. This is what Suburban Bicycle Gang wants us to do and that’s what we need to do. The song set against a backdrop of intensified rock beats with roaring vocals and guitars, let’s you have a feel of punk rock infused with garage rock and grunge, so you’re sure in for a feast. The vocals and the song’s intensity tells how much of urgency the situation at hand is. Such a beautiful way to send a powerful message across and I love how the song gives you room to ponder on its message, allowing you to have a real feel of garage rock music.
Well “The council of Rats” just goes on to show how dedicated the band is to making music that have a real meaning no matter what comes their way, and fans of punk rock music just love their way of music and as one of the best Indie Rock bands from Canada, they are doing a very great job at showing everyone they’re indeed in a league of their own.
