Why SERAh’s “I Just Wanna (lie with you)” Hurts So Good

Sometimes we keep saying, oh I wanna leave, oh that would be the last time, oh I ain’t gonna give them another chance, yeah we’ve all been there. You know a relationship is absolutely a train wreck, but instead of packing your bags, you just decide to stay one more night because the thought of leaving is way too exhausting. And in the end we end up blaming our partners instead of blaming ourselves for not making a decision and standing on your grounds. Well SERAh’s new track, “I Just Wanna (lie with you),” is basically the theme song for that specific kind of bad decision.

Teaming up with Odxttx, SERAh has put out a melodic bass track that hits right in the feels. The moment the track starts, you can already feel the vulnerability in there, it is all about denial. It’s all about thinking yeah, I can handle it. You know, that heavy, quiet space where you realize things aren’t healthy, but you choose to ignore it anyway just cause you feel bad leaving them or think things can change for the better. But sometimes we can’t change people or situations and therefore we’ve gotta go for ourselves first. I love how the song’s lyrics are pretty exposed and raw. They talk about watching the spark die out in someone’s eyes and just wanting to hold on for a little longer, even if it’s a mistake.

The song starts out with a bit of a trap vibe in the verses, giving the vocals plenty of room to breathe. It feels intimate and a little fragile at first. But then, it kicks into this huge, euphoric drop that feels like a massive release of energy. It’s a cool contrast—the verses feel like the weak moment where you’re stuck, and the drop feels like the strength you’re trying to find. By the second drop, the music gets even more intense, like a bit of a self-awakening. And this is where you realize things are really never coming back to as it was. The reflection, the playbacks and everything begins to crumble, then you begin to ask if it was worth the risk or not.

One thing is SERAh is known for this kind of “cinematic” electronic music. She doesn’t just make songs; she builds an entire universe around them. If you check out her YouTube or Instagram, every release is actually part of a bigger sci-fi story called Lyra’s World. It’s pretty ambitious for a DJ, honestly.

This record, released through IAMPHOENIX, is perfect for those long, slightly moody night drives where you’re thinking about your life choices. It’s got that future bass grit but keeps the emotional stuff right at the center. It’s a track for anyone who has ever preferred a comfortable lie over a harsh truth.
