The latest single from The Cumberland River Project titled “Your Man” is one song that you need to woo your dream lady haha. What’s beautiful about this band is how they blend country roots with the soulful echoes of blues rock. Led by songwriter and producer Frank Renfordt, is a musical endeavor that transcends genres. The band comprises of Simon Roell on drums, Dennis Renfordt on lead guitar, Dima Faustov on horns, Jenny Sabi handling backing vocals, and a lead singer who remains undisclosed for legal reasons. From bass and rhythm guitar to organ, Renfordt does it all, putting together a melody of sounds that is nostalgic yet modern and intriguing. The way this song was crafted, the moment you hit the play button, you just get this 80s vibes all over and I love the energy it comes with. Even though Renfordt’s is more of Country and Americana but The Cumberland River Project takes influences from the energetic musical world of 80s artists like Joe Cocker and Tina Turner. And the result? My goodness a fusion of blues rock that pays homage to the soulful vibes of the 70s and 80s and it’s lovely.
Now “Your Man” is beautiful masterpiece that talks about how a guy propose his affection and passionate love to her dream lady. A girl he loves, but he’s having a hard time making the girl understand him, his vision and how he’s gonna change the girls perception about love. The storytelling is soo engaging and really intriguing. I love how the song has this reggae vibes too coupled with those country music stuffs and how the backing vocalist sings, and the main vocals? Haha, a thing of beauty. Sometimes you really love this girl and your intentions are genuine, but she’s having trust issues, and you really want her to understand you’re different and will treat her right. You really wanna be her man, and take her anywhere and she hinting at you how ya ain’t gonna keep that promise.
It’s like this lady has been hurt severally by people who fails to live to their promise and then there’s you who’s madly in love with her, ready to go beyond everything and prove to her your love is unconditional. I love the song, it’s blues inspired beats coupled with those trumpets, creating a reggae like vibes which keeps you hooked, entertained and connects your soul to the artist feels. Wow, the band really killed it, with each member delivery top notch performances. With the lyrics, beats and those vocals brought together from each member from the comfort of their homestudios, then assembled beautifully by Renfordt and then mastered by the expert Eroc, this song is a must-listen that gives you orgasm while listening to it.
