3 min read

Sometimes life is too complicated to be worrying too much about it, so when that happens, go out sit in the woods, out on some music and have a chat with nature, where you can dream and imagine some wonderful places and feel and that’s what Carlos Dengler has created for us on the album “The After”. This album is a captivating 8 track album that takes listeners on a heavenly mesmerizing journey through the chills of ambient and experimental music.

Setting the tone for the rest of the album to follow suit is the opening track “Extremophile.” In this track, Dengler takes listeners through a world filled of everything we’ve dreamt of, the track starts curiously with this growing forest sound that expands to consume you, then as the track goes on you realize this sound that sounds like a bird whistling echoing and allowing those mesmerizing melodies to lead you through this interlocking melodic notes. The song creates this atmosphere where you feel like everything happening around you is a mystery, it let’s you reflect deeply on your surroundings while paying attention to every detail. Then from midway of the track towards the end, you’re met with a drumming beats that comes in to sway you away. That’s lovely and magical, the feel, the suspense, man you gotta experience this, and I wonder how people do it, wow, I’m hyped. It just lets you wanna even go on to enjoy the rest of the album such a beautiful to start your album.

Another track that takes nature’s sound and create a nature esque experience with the listener is the track “Preparation.” If you’ve lived in the woods and wake up very early to go to the woods, everything you experience early morning in the woods is here, the birds who are awake, calling and making noises to wake up other creatures, then the other animals waking up to join in and when everyone’s awake they all prepare to go for their hunting or go about their daily lives. This is intriguing, I mean I didn’t expect it, then as the track goes on, you hear the river moving or like when someone’s actually passing by a river, what you hear, with frogs and other creatures making their sounds, giving you the nature feel in your home. The track allows you to imagine how such an experience would feel like and go ahead to give you that exact feeling. It just wants you to prepare for the uncertainty that awaits, wow, this is ma favorite on the album and I love it. That’s some mad creativity in there, to able to craft such a track with accuracy, nah you need to be talented af. Bringing the album to a beautiful ending is the title track “The After”. In this track Carlos continues his exploration of otherworldly, in here the track straight up starts hauntingly with a blend atmospheric textures that evokes this kind of waking up a spirit or approaching a fearful place. It also gives this vibe of walking alone through an evil forest, where every sound you hear spikes a glimmer of fear and makes you wonder how it will feel to be gone. It’s a track that explore themes of the afterlife, where you ponder and reflect on your life back on earth, leaving the listener in an unavoidable introspection. See you don’t create such instrumentals if you’re not talented.

Well this album “The After” is just a masterpiece of creativity, the ability to able to craft such melodies and sounds that speaks volumes and consume the listener and put them into the feels of the track, wow, you don’t make those if you don’t understand what you doing, it’s not just sounds in here, it’s a poetic meditations on the mysteries of existence and the journey of the soul. So what you waiting waiting for? Go ahead and give this album a mad listen and enjoy a 10/10 masterpiece throughout the weekend. ENJOY!! Make sure to check him out on the links below for more;
