Music probably is the best thing that happened to mankind, its ability to pierce your soul, have you in your feels and capture your emotions makes it a rare commodity. The song which symbolizes the return of Fabrice Duval, the band’s iconic hero, takes listeners through a beautiful story about a girl named “Amy”, who had to choose between living in a fantasized world or face her fears and face life head on with its uncertainties. What I love about this song is how it blends classic rocks elements with modern elements, then those funky and clean guitar elements sweeping you off your feet with those groovy bass line along with the drums and vocals, my goodness, it’s smooth and enjoyable. The song lets you experience the actual classic rock and still introduces you to the modern type, such a marvelous creativity for every listener to enjoy. The song then continue with its beautiful storyline about Amy. Sometimes you really wanna be free from those fears, you wanna believe that whatever may happen should happen but then again, something you’ve dealt with since childhood is not easy getting rid off and this was the reality of Amy. Her psychological thinking has been psyched with fear and fantasies since childhood, so her leaving those behind has really become a problem for her and this is the case most of us deals with. We face the decision as to whether live in fantasy or face life’s harsh realities and accept whatever it has for us. It’s like you don’t really enjoy fantasy and wish to see what others see in life itself but then you’re afraid of screwing up and being laughed at. But hey, no one gets it at a go, if you don’t come out of that shell like Amy here in the track, then you’re gonna live in your fears. Love is beautiful and nice, so go chase that person you adore and stop fantasizing about them in your imaginations, make those realities and live life. This is show you make music, create something that the listener can’t turn away from, the songs ability to strike your psychological thinking is crazy, the storyline just marvelous, and the delivery, wow, the band did it.
Well Amy by Skycall is indeed a masterpiece, the song which was produced by Duval and mastered by Alexandros Chrysidis at Sierra Studios in Athens, Greece, is intriguing, captivating and exhilarating. It’s that kinda song, which when played feels like someone’s talking to you. It has this ability to pierce your soul and make you ponder on its lyrics with the way the beats pans out. The storytelling is just awesome, the deep lyrics which many can relate to, unmatched and the delivery topping it up with a top notch production. It’s catchy and I love those little interludes to allow the listener to infuse themselves into the song’s atmosphere.
