Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends “Bells of Silver” Is A Warm, Nostalgic Gem

Lemme ask you, do you have a specific memory from your childhood that always pops into your head when you hear a certain type music? Well Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends is a mouthful of a name, but the music is actually very easy on the ears. The man behind the project used to be in a Swedish band called Red Moon, but now he is doing his own thing. His latest single is called “Bells of Silver,” and it is honestly one of the sweetest songs I have heard in a long time.

He released a Swedish version of this song earlier this year, but this English version is what we are getting on his upcoming album in May. It is basically a big, warm thank you to his children and his grandkids. While he is singing to them, he also sprinkles in these little memories from when he was a kid himself. It feels like flipping through a dusty old photo album in a sunny living room.

The song starts out really gentle with some nice guitar jangles and a soft organ in the background. It has this vintage feel that reminds me of The Beatles or The Beach Boys, especially when the backing vocals kick in. Those harmonies were done by David Myhr, and they give the whole track a really bright, uplifted feeling.

As the song moves along, it builds up into this big, triumphant moment with acoustic strums and drums that feel very “real” and organic. Andreas Quincy Dahlbäck is on the drums, and he does a great job of keeping things moving without making it feel too heavy. It is a mix of power pop and folk, but it doesn’t feel like it’s trying to be a museum piece. It feels very current and honest.

It is rare to find a song that talks about “aged wisdom” without sounding preachy or boring. This one just sounds like a guy who is happy about where he came from and who he is leaving behind. It’s got a lot of heart, a bit of a 60s vibe, and a melody that stays with you. If you like music that feels like a warm hug and makes you want to call your parents or your kids, “Bells of Silver” is the one. It is simple, beautiful, and very human.
