John Muka Band Makes You Feel Alive Again on “More & More”
You know sometimes you just need that one song which will kick your ass and get you up so you can be active. Before that lemme ask, are the type that’s more into the polished studio sound, or do you live for those bands that sound like they could start an impromptu jam session at any second? Well that’s up to you to decide but if you are looking for a reason to finally get off your couch and move around a bit, I think I found the right band for you. Based out of Jacksonville, Florida, the John Muka Band just dropped a new single called “More & More,” and it is a total mood-lifter.

The thing is I’ve been listening to a lot of stuff lately that sounds like it was made entirely on a laptop in a basement, don’t get me wrong, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but the thing is sometimes you just want to hear a group of real people actually playing instruments in a room together. Like you want to feel that live energy, how everything moves, how each instrument sounds and how they play it. And that’s exactly what you get here, the way these guys blend indie rock with a jam-band energy is really huge, they make it feel Soo good like a hug to your ears.
Now the track “More & More” is really bright and lively, the way those horns and guitars light up the song is unmatched, they create this energetic atmosphere where you feel every sound, every instrument and enjoy every piece of it, whilst asking for more. The track is built on this really tight, groovy foundation. Right from the start, you get those soulful rhythms that make it impossible to keep your feet still. What makes the John Muka Band stand out is their lineup. They don’t just stick to the basic guitar and drums. Just like I said, they have this vibrant horns and even a violin in the mix. It gives the song this rich, layered feeling without ever feeling cluttered or messy.
When you hit that play button, you realize the song hits on something we all deal with—the tug-of-war between being happy with what you have and always wanting just a little bit more. It’s about that pull toward something that feels just out of reach. It’s ain’t as though you’re an ingrate, but sometimes you just want something more beyond and reaching this is where the struggle lies. I love how the music follows that theme perfectly. It starts with a solid groove and then builds up with rising energy and these great vocal harmonies that really stick in your head.
So if you are a fan of bands like the Dave Matthews Band or Nathaniel Rateliff, you are going to feel right at home here. It has that organic, festival-ready sound that makes you want to grab a cold drink and find a sunny spot outside. Even though it has that “live band” spontaneity, the production is still really polished and ready for the radio.
The band is keeping the momentum going all through 2026, with more releases like their next song “Bus Stop” already on the way. They’ve got roots that stretch from Florida all the way to Europe and Brazil, and you can hear all those different influences bleeding into the music. It’s just good, honest songwriting played by people who clearly have a lot of chemistry together. So go ahead and give “More & More” a listen, it just makes even the longest of dream feels shorter.
