“Doing Fine” by OpCritical Fights Back Against Conformity

Have you ever looked around lately and felt like everyone is turning into a bunch of mindless clones? Between the endless social media trends and the constant pressure from politicians telling us how to think, it is getting harder to just be a normal, independent person. So I get it if maybe you are totally sick of the pressure to fit in. But there’s a song by one of my favorite bands right now, OpCritical.

Their new track is called “Doing Fine,” and I must say it’s a game changer through all this noise and stuffs going on. I believe you know this is actually the band’s fourth release this year right, cos we’ve been covering all of their releases here and man, they are already racking up millions of views and getting global radio play.

The most interesting part about OpCritical is that nobody knows who they actually are. The members have purposely keep their identities a secret because they say their faces don’t matter, but their message does, and this we know since their first release. Now they started the band earlier this year specifically to fight back against the rise of autocrats and to stand up for regular values like honesty, decency, and the rule of law. They have promised to keep churning out music until the danger to our freedom is gone, so they are definitely going to be busy for a while.

Doing Fine” is basically a loud anthem for anyone who refuses to follow the crowd. It is a mix of old-school grunge and classic punk rock. It takes you right back to that 90s era where musicians actually rebelled against stuff instead of trying to look pretty for the internet. The song itself is a fast, sarcastic attack on mass conformity. The lyrics take direct aim at the institutions that try to crush your individuality, whether that is a rigid home life, an intolerant church, a strict school, or even a literal prison.

I personally like the church reference here, we are asked to pray against things we don’t even see or control, so sometimes people should stop worrying and know that we doing fine if we ain’t living by their principles and how they thought us, we have a mind of our own. OpCritical uses the song to remind everyone that if you don’t fit into these neat little boxes, you aren’t a weird outcast. You are actually an amazing person, and you are doing just fine.

The real high point of the track is the catchy refrain where they yell, “I won’t fit into your box, leave me alone.” It is simple, punchy, and makes you want to pump your fist in the air. The instruments match that raw energy with heavy, distorted guitars and a driving rhythm section that never slows down. It completely rejects the polished, fake sound of modern pop and embraces a grittier, garage-band feel.

They also released a fun, indie-style music video on YouTube to go along with the track. In the video, the musicians show off some funny antics and completely refuse to live in a cookie-cutter world. It is a great visual for a song that wants to rescue people from the trap of groupthink.

So if you are tired of being told what to do and want a track that celebrates being a bit of a rebel, turn the volume up on this one. It is loud, it is funny, and it tells the truth, maybe your parents or those people up there will finally listen and know you’re doing fine after you didn’t follow their rules and deceit.
