Frequency77’s ‘Monster’ Is a Fierce Rock Anthem for Cutting Out Toxic People

I always say life is crazy and sometimes music becomes our only way of speaking what ever we want to say without ever saying a word. You know those moments where you someone who seemed totally normal at first, but then as things went on, they turned out to be a complete nightmare? I mean we’ve all been fooled by a wolf in sheep’s clothing. You try to be nice, you welcome them into your space, you become open to them, you give them the benefit of the doubt, and then boom, they completely burn you, squeeze you and make a fool out of your kindness.

Toxic people everywhere these days making the good people even not open anymore, so if you’re currently dealing with a toxic person and need a heavy track to help you blow off some steam, you need to plug in your headphones right now for there is a wild new single making the rounds called “Monster” by a project named Frequency77, and it does not pull a single punch. It’s a beautiful track that will have you feeling completely relieved and know your next step.

Now incase you didn’t know, Frequency77 is actually a fictional rock band from the future. Why do I say so? Well that’s cos they come from a science fiction book called SLOW SPACE by an author named Lucian Phillips. According to the lore, the band formed in Perth, Australia, in the year 2050 when two guys named Freese and Block met at a gig. They eventually recruited a lead singer and bassist named Mink, toured the US college circuit, and became a beloved live act until tragedy struck the band in 2066.

Now, here is the funniest part about this whole thing. Even though this band is supposed to be from the year 2050, the music project itself is proudly one hundred percent AI-free. In a world where people are using computers to write lyrics and generate fake drum beats, Frequency77 is doing things the old-school way. It is just raw human energy, real instruments, and pure passion.

This track “Monster” is a loud, aggressive rock tune that grabs you by the collar from the very first second. The instrumentation is tight, driving, and full of classic garage-rock friction. It has a heavy, and good enough pace that makes you want to stomp your feet or drive a little too fast on the highway. But the real star of the show is the brutal honesty in the lyrics. The song opens up with lines that will make your jaw drop: “You don’t have my sympathy. You don’t have my heart. You’d stab an angel in the eye. You’re a monster.”

Talk about holding nothing back. Just look at the message, the track is all about that exact moment when you finally stop playing nice and call a bad person out for exactly what they are. It’s about cutting ties with a manipulator who has zero empathy. When someone is so cruel that they would literally stab an angel in the eye, you have to realize that saving them is a lost cause, and you can’t even save someone who doesn’t want to be saved.

I love how the song acts as a giant, angry anthem for self-preservation. It’s the perfect track to blast when you finally block an ex’s phone number or decide you are done dealing with a fake friend. It’s aggressive, it’s cathartic, and it feels completely therapeutic to scream along with the chorus. So to those out there who love rock music with a great concept, awesome storytelling, and a totally independent spirit, Frequency77 deserves a spot on your daily rotation. Put Monster on repeat on your top playlist and you can also check out the official SLOW SPACE playlist over at Pav Studios on Spotify to get the full experience.
