Hahaha I don’t know about you but you know when an artist remake a classic hit then you know that sh** is an outright banger straight up, and well well I’ve got Résiste records here releasing its 12th album, and this time it’s something special. Enitu and Yul have taken a beloved French classic, “Si Maman Si” by France Gall, and given it a fresh makeover with a modern twist and those extra touches, twist and turns has given this classic a new sound without it deviating from the old one.
Enitu , a talented singer, started singing at a young age, inspired by her musician father. She joined choirs and performed in prestigious concerts. She even sang at open mic sessions and worked with different music groups, including one with her father. Here’s the gist after being passed through fire to be refined she’s starting her first solo project with Yul and it’s just so amazing and beautiful and infact one to keep an eye on but Yul on the other hand is a versatile artist who likes to try working his magic on sound to create something unique you and I probably haven’t heard before and that’s what he loves going.
He’s just an amazing artist, he’s got some stuffs up in his sleeve cos one person he’s musician, sound engineer, and DJ and that alone should give you a hint of what to expect, a masterpiece well crafted and enjoyable. To push him self beyond his limits and abilities he loves to collaborate in various creative fields as which infact shapes him and keep him at par with the modern crafts. He started Résiste in 2004, where they create radio dramas, do sound work, build websites, manage artists, and many more. Yul’s musical journey includes EPs, singles, remixes, and more.
Like I said this collaboration made sure “Si Maman Si” got a fresh, modern sound that makes it very special and unique. But a lot of the time people remake classics and end up changing it essence and value and the crazy thing here is Enitu and Yul didn’t do that but rather added new elements and still kept the song’s value and virtue and that’s amazing, speaks volumes of them and their talent. “Si Maman Si” has been loved by fans of French music for a long time, and Enitu and Yul’s version adds a new layer to its history. Every beautiful songs needs a beautiful soothing vocals and Enitu’s made sure if that alongside Yul’s creative vision, this remake is sure to capture the hearts of old and new fans. The quality of the recording and Yul’s artistic touch are clear in this project, making it a must-listen, you just can’t ignore it haha been enjoying it since I got ma hands on it.
