ADRIAN SUTHERLAND’S LATEST SINGLE “PRECIOUS” IS A SOULFUL FIGHT FOR FREEDOM

It’s a beautiful week and nothing crowns weekends amazingly than having those weekend’s on a sunset drive and rocking some music on the way in the car. This artist named Adrian Sutherland, the roots-rocker-with-heart from Attawapiskat. Born and raised in Canada’s Far North, Adrian Sutherland’s music projects a blend of rock, roots, folk, and blues, with inspirations from his life, the land, and his Cree culture.
Adrian takes center stage with the release of two amazing singles, “Precious” and “Diamonds,” from his upcoming album, “Precious Diamonds,” which drops in March 15, 2024. Now I guess you know how the name of the album came about haha. Yes from those two singles but I’ve got the single Precious here and man wow, it’s freaking good. The song that talks about a fight for freedom is sure gonna take your breath away. The album tho was recorded in Nashville in collaboration with GRAMMY-winning producer Colin Linden, “Precious Diamonds”. The album stands as a second solo album from Adrian. It’s an album you should anticipate cos it’s got all the juice and vibes just from these two singles released.
Now let’s take a look at the latest single Precious. A song that’s Inspired by soulful Black music from the American South, talks about how often people get oppressed because of their colour forcing them to move away from their precious land. Are you gonna run away? And leave your precious land to the oppressor? No we gotta fight for our freedom and stand up to the oppressor, it’s a cry for standing up for yourself and fighting in unity. It’s a song that pays homage an old-age fight for freedom and wow the storytelling in this song is something I haven’t experienced before.
The song has this sunset vibes and carry the spirit of togetherness and driven energy. “When the war is won, burry me next to my father”, a line urging people to push on with determination to fight for a better place for the next generation even if they are no more, die a hero. The emotional depth of the song captures the listener right from the begining and gets you hooked till the end, urging listeners to never give up on anything they doing or going through, keep pushing on and hold unto your grounds. It’s like a war song with it’s commanding vocals and delivery. The lyrics, storytelling, vocals and delivery makes this song a must listen and a solid 10/10. Projecting what to expect from his upcoming album.
Whilst “Diamonds” takes a more uplifting tone and delivery, both tracks shouldn’t be missed. Every human is unique and precious like a diamond.
