“CROWN” BY PROKLAIM: A MOTIVATIONAL MASTERPIECE FOR PERSONAL GROWTH AND RESILIENCE
3 min readIn this life, the best thing that could happen to everyone is finding their true self and making their purpose their priority. You can’t eat your cake and have it, and that is why sometimes you gotta ditch obstacles in your life and fight to achieve your goals. Because if you fail, they gonna sit in the room and point ghost fingers at your and make mockery of you. It is why Proklaim’s latest single “Crown” wants us to aim for the crown and make sure there’s food on our table before anything else. The song want us to prioritize our personal growth and jump over every hurdle that tries to hinder this growth. If you know Proklaim well, you’d realize how smooth and unique his flow and rap is, he’s one of the few rappers that lets you settle in their songs and get consumed by their lyrics. As a solo artist who has influences from Bob Marley to Wu-Tang Clan, his songs are mixture of deep wisdom and deep lyrics. The way he infuses genres is also one thing that makes him stands out.
Now this song Crown which was recorded at PEN PUSHAZ ENTERTAINMENT and was beautifully mixed and mastered by Wojtek Majewski at Audio Art Namibia, comes as a song with this jazzy-trap vibe, that allows Proklaim’s deep introspective lyrics shines and hit the listener’s soul and let them ponder on the lyrics. However the song itself is just a masterpiece, the way he flows, choice of words and the way he ate up the beats is joy. It’s like that fine wine, that when you sip, you don’t wanna stop sipping and wish your mouth was linked to it bottle so you will be sipping all day. It’s a song that pushes you to go beyond what you eyes see and fulfill your full potential and stop settling for less. Set yours eyes on the crown and let it be your dream goal, cos if you don’t, then you can’t blame anyone for your failure. So get up and go hustle till you get the crown, you gotta persevere man, you gotta find yourself in the midst of the chaos and walk through the storm like the king you are and wear that crown. With lines like “gotta see the end my friend” and “following the road I’m meant to be on” hinting at one’s desire to find their purpose and readiness to achieve such purpose. One thing that makes this track very resonating is how Proklaim crafted his personal experiences and blended them with a universal experiences, giving the song the notion listeners wants it to have. The crazy thing about the track is how deep it is, and to those who appreciate substance in lyrics, this is for you. It’s a song that pushes you to be authentic, chase your dreams and be resilient in doing so. And if you take the song from a performance point of view, then you’ve got the right banger, the word play and flow of the lyrics are just nuts, with each word carrying substance and not just gibberish fillers. He really out did himself on this one and I must say, I love it. The beats are just immaculate and one that will get you moving and jamming to this masterpiece.
Well Crown by Proklaim is what hip-hop use to be, it gives you the feel of when hip-hop use to have substance in their lyrics. The way the song was crafted makes you question your taste of music and your choice of artist you listen to. So to me this is a song with a clear message, and it also goes on to show Proklaim’s dedication to his craft and beliefs. The beats, lyrics and delivery makes this song a solid 10/10 project that deserves your attention.
