Sometimes what people don’t get is being a man is not easy at all. You ain’t a boy anymore and now a man of your own thinkings, doings and now you have to deal with everything head on, I don’t think people do realize how difficult that is. Well I can say fans of Gary Dranow and The Manic Emotions have been eating really good this year as the band have been releasing songs back to back non stop ever since the year started. The beats, inspiration and the way and manner it was sang just oozes class and authenticity. Trust me the moment you hit that play button, there’s no going back and you can’t stop listening and repeating this beauty.
Now this track is what I call a masterpiece and a voice for all. “I’m a Man” is a song that talks about the difficulty in being a man, the difficulty and pain of having to figure out everything yourself and no one to look up to. Growing up without any father figure in your life and all you had was the advices of your mom. It’s not easy to grow up in a home without a father, who are you gonna look up to be a man? Who’s gonna guide you to be masculine enough? Now you have to do everything by yourself and it’s crazy, move through the pain, fight life head-on and the resilience and the ability to discover yourself is what this song instills, it gives hope to everyone that’s lost in life and trying to find their way. The storytelling in here is intriguing, growing up with no father figure, figuring life out yourself and now meeting a woman who wants you to be the man you are and here’s you who don’t even know how to be a man. The pain and how hard that is and it’s effects, finding redemption, purpose and love. It is indeed a very great song with a powerful message. The vocals, the beats, the lyrics and it’s delivery and how the band effortlessly mixes blues and rock to craft this masterpiece is just amazing.
Well I’m a Man, ain’t just your regular kinda song, this has the best storyline and storytelling piece you will ever find, the genre mix, the melodies infused with those calm yet intriguing vocals to ride on such beats, wow, this band never stops to amaze me.
