JSDavani is a talented multimedia artist who is popularly known for making music that is far different from the same old boring mainstream music you hear all the time. With his new album, he promises to even take his talent and creativity to a whole different level. Even though this album was made in the Pop genre, he promised to add something new, a sound to Pop, to make this album one of it’s kind and it’s this way of making music that has gotten him where he is in his career and that’s what sets him apart. You know the amazing thing here, this album was also dedicated to Jacoby’s best friend Eric Barnes, who couldn’t live to experience this masterpiece. I know you probably wouldn’t believe me if i told you this entire album was made by one person but that’s exactly what happened. From the writing, basically all the composition, the production of the album was all done by one person, Jacoby Davani, the creative force behind JSDavani. That’s just insane, isn’t it?. That just shows you how talented he is, how dedicated and committed he is to his work and the kind of album you’re in for. Lemme not waste much time let’s take stroll through the album.
The first track i wanna talk about is “Moon N/Pocket”, this song talks about the complex nature of relationships, the desire to feel accepted and the need to move on no matter what you’re going through in life. This issue needs more attention and I love the fact that this song talks about it perfectly. Sometimes you wanna move on but then some part of you also wanna stay and see if they can change, but trust me people don’t change. They stay in a toxic relationship, leave. The crazy aspect is the beats are soooo good and goes well with the vocals, it makes you feel like you’re levitating.
Next is “KNWTHS”. The beats on here are just fire!!!. This song also talks about going through tough times and still fighting for a way to get past it all and move on with your life. Most often a time people don’t really seem to get past their huddles cos they keep adding more, but this song wants to tell us that walk on, through the winds, even though your dreams maybe shut and blown but keep pushing with hope cos there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
The album takes a turn when it comes to “Mini Yrs”, the 7th song on the album. “Mini Yrs” talks about death and what comes after that. “If I should die before I wake up, I pray to God to take my soul”, these lines just shows you how much of emotions JSDavani poured into this songs’ lyrics, it is truly a song worth listening to. Especially loosing his Best friend, Eric Barnes, he really poured out his heart into this one, it’s touching, emotional and very relatable. Waking up one day and the best person in your life you shared every moment with is no more, that’s heart wrecking grenade, a hard pill to swallow, you will never be forgotten Eric, rest on Dear friend, Jacoby misses you! Even though “FTCHRS” was inspired by the passing of JSDavani’s best friend, Eric Barnes, May his soul rest in peace. This album was also inspired by stories of mental health, trauma and the difficulties people go through everyday.
With “FTCHRS”, JSDavani has made a masterpiece that talks about a lot of things people deal with in our everyday lives.
