Karlo Bromsen – “Parlin Papito” Turns a Child’s Drawing Into Joyful Indie Pop

Music really has a way of coming up from the simplest of inspiration and you’d wonder how good it sounds actually and won’t believe what the idea behind it was. Like have you ever looked at a silly doodle drawn by a kid and thought, “Hey, that little guy needs his own cartoon show and a catchy theme song”? Maybe it’s down to talents, but to look at a kids drawing and create a song from it is really intriguing. But that’s pretty much how Berlin artist Karlo Bromsen ended up creating his solo single, “Parlin Papito“.

He took a small drawing created by his son Willi, and built a whole surreal cartoon world around a little character named Papito who pops out of a corked bottle, hangs out with bees, and battles oddball villains. The result of this beautiful creation is a light-hearted, wonderfully weird indie pop track that feels like a cool breath of fresh air. The song, from the start, greets you with a bright, handmade feel that skips slick, and a lot of the boring stuffs people do these days.

I love how warm the production feels, it’s got this indie pop instruments with quirky electronic elements mixed with an upbeat acoustic guitar strumming holding down the main rhythm, while bouncy synthesizer hooks weave in and out of the background like little cartoon sound effects. It’s really an interesting piece of music. One lovely thing about the track is how the drum beat stays light, crisp, and snappy, it helps creates this cheerful tempo that makes you want to bounce along in your seat. It’s got a sweet vibe and mood to it with. Karlo’s vocals sitting right in the middle of the mix with a relaxed, conversational tone. He delivers the playful lyrics with a slight wink and a smile you can practically hear through the speakers. The whole arrangement feels cozy, warm, and full of summer energy.

Parlin Papito” is a celebration of family, simple imagination, and pure joy. Something which is getting lost in our society these days, people are too busy, working over hours and don’t even have enough time to spend with their family and kids. So the track says, yeah the may be bigger problems in the world and all, but the very foundation we built our world on is fading away. So let’s cut down some of the seriousness with life and focuses on the magic of everyday creative chaos. It reminds us how much fun it is to step away from boring adult routines and see the world through a child’s eyes for a few minutes.

Papito’s weird little adventures serve as a reminder that we do not always need deep, complicated answers to enjoy life. Sometimes all you is that little things we often ignore, talk with people, have time with your kids, watch some cartoons with them and share a simple smile with those you love. Don’t overcomplicate things, enjoy every moment and be happy with it. Karlo Bromsen has delivered a fun, inventive track that’s guaranteed to brighten up your mood. It’s playful, catchy, and backed by a super cute DIY animation that makes the whole release feel special. So go ahead and give it a listen and cheer up your day and put a big smile on your face and your love ones.
