KSS ENCHANTING MUSICAL JOURNEY: “THERE IS A PLACE” LATEST SINGLE FROM THEIR HIT ALBUM ‘MAGNIFICAT’

Have you enjoyed a choral song to bits before? Huh man like the song makes you wanna sleep in the church just so you can heat the choir sing all day hahaha yes, don’t worry cos I got ya. The Women’s Choral Society of the University of Oslo (KSS) has blessed us with their eloquent voices on their latest single dubbed “There is a place”. The song which was released under their their album “Magnificat,” is gonna take you by storm with it’s smooth delivery and enchanting vocals. With the guidance of of Marit Tøndel Bodseberg Weyde as the conductor , the band has indeed captured the hearts of many with this release.
The album “Magnificat” which was written Ellen Andrea Wang is making huge waves and you can’t miss out on this one if you’re a fan of choral music. The whole album got it inspiration from the Gospel of Luke and Catholic Church rite. It talks about what Mary went through , the emotions of giving birth to the Savior. It’s a power packed album that you need to listen to.
Wang says throughout history she hasn’t seen many female composers sing those Mary emotions ,it’s always men so she took it upon herself to create something unique out of it, the results is what we are experiencing and I’m glad she took that bold step. Bravo Wang. The album also won the Norwegian Grammy, Spellemannprisen, in both 2018 and 2022. Wait wait, now here’s the deal, let’s take walk through the song that shines through the album.
“There is a Place” is a song that takes listeners into an atmosphere of peacefulness and inner calm. The verses in the song projects peace and a sense of belonging with lines like “There’s a place I know, where I can rest my soul”. Even tho there may be sober and joy, you still want that inner peace. The performances by the lead singer Ellen Wang and the backing Choir is just awesome. The high notes and undertones evokes a peaceful environment for the song to be enjoyed. Not forgetting the instruments hahaha my goodness, it’s over the moon beautiful, magical and the vocals are Soo fine and superb. It’s a choral song, man the song makes me wanna be in the church all day just to hear them sing. Go ahead and treat yourself to some good music and let your sould find peace at a place you know.
There is a place stands out as the best choral song I’ve heard in a long time, the vocals, lyrics and the arrangements of the song just goes crazy, you can’t teach talent you either have it or you don’t. The way the song was sang is something i can’t speak enough of it cos I can’t find words to describe it, so I say go ahead and give “There is a place” a listen and it may be on your favorite playlist.
