OpCritical – “Righteousness”: A Hard-Hitting Rock Anthem Against Greed and Corruption
It gets tiring right, and sometimes it makes you feel like you’re not even doing enough. Just look at it, you look at your bank account, look at the price of groceries, and then open the news or social media only to see some billionaire launching himself into space for a five-minute vacation. When you come across such stuffs, then it makes you wanna throw your phone out the window. It painful to be are out here counting pennies while a tiny group of ultra-rich corporate bosses flaunts their massive wealth like it’s a fu*king video game. Im fed up, you’re fed up with this greed that’s plunging us. So let’s get this loud, angry soundtrack for our frustration, and turn the volume up and rally behind OpCritical. They just dropped a fierce new single called “Righteousness” and it’s the track we need to express that anger.

I know by now many of you are familiar with OpCritical, but if you’re new to them, then this is a brand-new project formed in early 2026, and they are doing things a bit differently. These guys give zero Fs about fame, and they purposefully keep the names of the band members completely secret. They believe their personal identities are not important, but their message is. They emerged from Washington, D.C., as an independent voice for anyone who wants to stand up for decency, honesty, and tolerance. They’ve already racked up numbers and getting tons of radio play, and that should tell you many are going through a lot. But the beauty about them is, they’ve made a promise to keep releasing tracks until the social injustices in America are gone.
Their latest track, “Righteousness” is the second song in a planned trilogy that explicitly condemns plutocracy and kleptocracy. In plain English, they are coming directly for the greedy politicians and corrupt billionaires. “Righteousness” is a high-energy mix of hard-hitting rock and alternative pop. It uses driving guitar riffs and an incredibly punchy rhythm to get your adrenaline pumping. A hilarious but dark feature in the middle of the song is the inclusion of audio clips of rich fat cats literally laughing at regular people. It makes you mad, which is exactly what the band wants. The song is a massive warning to the oligarchs who build their fortunes on the backs of working-class citizens. The main refrain says it all: “Evil, greedy money barons won’t be stealing for much longer when they see their party’s over.”
It’s a song about karmic justice. The band compares our modern economy to revolutionary France. They remind us that when a famous wealthy queen told starving peasants to “eat cake,” those regular people eventually united and held her fully accountable. “Righteousness” is a modern call for civic and legal action. The track tells us that the working class will always get the last laugh when the system resets. To make the point even clearer, they released a music video using Disney-style animation that shows greedy, cigar-smoking barons partying while factories close, only to eventually get arrested and stripped of their cash.
It’s indeed the perfect, motivating track to put on your playlist when you are feeling crushed by corporate greed and need a reminder that the power still belongs to the people. OpCritical proves that independent rock is still the absolute best place to find real protest music with guts. “Righteousness” is up on all streaming platforms. Go give it a listen check out the animated video on YouTube, and get ready to stand up for what is right!
