From Mountaindale, NY is Shane Rennison, an authentic and soulful singer-songwriter, who through hie creative brains has blessed our ears with an intriguing live EP dubbed “Live at the Outlier Inn.” An EP recorded with his band in May 2023 at the renowned Outlier Inn Studio in Mountaindale, NY. The EP is journey beginner for Rennison to usher him from a solo artist to a versatile game changer in the indie pop and pop-rock scene as a band. So the 3 track EP is without a doubt full of quality and diversity that is sure to capture the hearts of listeners and resonates with them. So get on your seatbelt and be ready for a rollercoaster ride through this captivating EP.
See the Live at the Outlier Inn is top top creativity and I can’t fathom how good of an EP it is, but lemme glide you through the tracks. Setting the tone and the right mood to the EP is the track “Closer,” a song that talks about the importance of connection and vulnerability. The lyrics speaks about exploring the desire to break barriers and share beautiful moments in a relationship. Often a time when sh** gets heated up in relationships it creates barriers that becomes difficult to break, to even have a chance talk to your partner just becomes even harder. And this song goes deep into such matters and talks about the importance of mastering courage and talking to your partners to destroy that emotional distance between yous. The song is amazing , with how the vocals and lyrics complements each other on the beats, making it a song that gives the EP a grand opening.
Moving on is the next track “Ghost,” a song that talks about love lost and how difficult it becomes to let go off those fond memories. The lyrics paint a picture of how lost you become and living in the shadows of a past relationship like a ghost. And the most amazing thing about this song is how Rennison sang this passionately and filled with emotions adding extra depth to the song and the entire EP. It’s a must listen song, personal favorite on the EP. What I would tell you is don’t be a ghost in someone’s life, let go off them if they don’t want you anymore.
The EP takes a turn with the third track, “Drunk”, and omg it’s a crazy track and those up tempo beats makes it Soo enjoying and the vocals adding a depth of emotions to it. In as much as I would love to let you know much about this track, it’s better you listen to the whole EP and this track in particular and have a feel of how good music can heal a soul.
According to Rennison, “this project was a way for him to see if he was capable of playing with a band and trust me sh** is lit and smooth af. The EP is already making massive waves in the industry and man it just shows how good Rennison is, those live performances, crazy it’s really a banged on EP and I must say the best I’ve heard in the week.
