“THE DRAWER” EP BY KELSIE KIMBERLIN: A JOURNEY THROUGH LOVE, LOSS, AND SELF-DISCOVERY

When the music is soo good, you don’t want it to end and therefore you wish you could have a lengthy one instead and that’s why EPs or albums are there for us. When you’ve been through a lot of the phases of life and you wanna take a moment and reflect on them, then music is the sole company you need, especially the one that touches on every aspect of our emotions and no one does it better than Kelsie Kimberlin. Man, the moment you hit the play button on this debut EP, titled “The Drawer,” you’re met with an unmatched composition and soothing vocals that immediately makes you question your choice of artist you listen to. Then you remember it’s a debut EP, and you just can’t stop listening to it, it’s got it all, an EP that touches on themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. The EP released under the Symphonic Music Group, is an 8 track pack EP that goes on to show Kelsie’s artistry and how she’s able to explore the human emotions to its core. To me, this is one hell of an album that you’re gonna end up repeating all over again, so grab your seatbelt and let’s enjoy this beautiful ride through some of the tracks.

Giving the EP a grand opening is the beautiful melodic track titled “The Drawer.” This song comes in raw with Kelsie’s vocals sitting and riding on this smooth keyboard notes which captures your attention, gets you hooked and transports you into an emotional rollercoaster of a tumultuous relationship. The tone in which Kelsie sings, and the vulnerability in her voices just crashes your soul and puts you into an atmosphere of reflection on the pain, the highs and lows of heartbreak. What’s beautiful about this track is the way it makes you wanna tear up, when those memories begin to pop up, man, you just can’t hold it. Then as the song goes on, you realize the lyrics hauntingly gives you some sort of resilience even in the midst of that painful heartbreak. It’s the perfect track to light up the album and let you want more from the rest of the album. And just when you thought you’ve heard it all, my goodness, wow, you’re met with this track titled “Parking Lot”, a track infused with some lively latin spices which just gets you in a joyous mood, where you wanna tell everyone how happy you’re. Man those instrumentation is just addicting, the beats are just infectious and you just can’t stop jamming to it. The tempo, topped with this catchy chorus just wants you to sing along and dance with joy. The versatility demonstrated by Kelsie on this EP, just wows me, and I must say, there’s no skipping any track on this album. The moment you get to this track, you don’t want the song to end, it’s soo addictive and the way it goes on to lay emphasis on celebration and joy, especially when everyone wanted that hot person at the party and you the one that won, now imagine the joy and happiness, see Kelsie really know how to hit you hard with bangers and this EP is filled with them.

Giving the EP a beautiful and hopeful ending is the track titled “Recovery”. What this song does is wonderful. The way it personally reflects on personal growth and new found strength after all the hurdles you’ve endured is just wholesome. It a song that urges you to prioritize self-love, and the resilience in overcoming your struggles. It’s a also a personal song from Kelsie to all her loved ones and her fans, the song dhows us the benefits of having people that supports you, and believe in you. So whatever you do, just believe in yourself even if no one does, make sure you achieve your dreams and have the strength to achieve them. It’s a beautiful song, the beats, the melodies and those soothing vocals coupled with top notch delivery, wow, now that’s how you end an album.

Well this EP “The Drawer” ain’t just a collection of songs but a cohesive narrative that unfolds like chapters in a book. The arrangements, and the way each track has something to offer which is different from each other is just marvelous, this is really a nice piece of work by Kelsie, and I love it to bits, the way she crafted this EP really just epitomizes her sheer qualities and abilities.
