Bounce, Swagger, and Synth: SIR-VERE Hit Hard with ‘REBOUND // IGGY’
2 min read
SIR-VERE make a statement with their new AA-side EP ‘REBOUND // IGGY’, a preview of their forthcoming album ‘ROCKtronicS’. Known for taking chances and bending genres, the band has delivered two new tracks that sound very different. “Rebound” gets the EP off to a good start with a throbbing beat. Synths are heavy and industrial, lending a rough vibe to the track. I can hear a bit of Depeche Mode or Nine Inch Nails here. But there’s nothing retro about it. It’s punchy, bright, and powerful. It sounds perfect in a dark club or a commercial radio station. There’s feeling in the lyrics, talking about love that remains after people leave. The delivery from Craig White feels real and weighty, but it’s never overdone.

“Iggy” sounds a little different. It has a gritty, indie vibe to it. It pictures the band playing in a dark club. Drums thumping, bass grooving, and the crowd dancing with it. This is not imitating something. It’s respectful to “Iggy” Pop, but it’s created by SIR-VERE. This is not the usual copycat. “Iggy” doesn’t have to yell to be heard. It enters the room quietly, confidently, and takes up space. Live drums add a depth to the sound. The groove will not let go.
The remixes on the EP look promising, with some great names. The mix package should be a good one. Vodzilla and Prefix Sum will bring their unique take on these tracks. This EP isn’t about sticking to one style. It’s creating a world of music – part electronic, part rock, and all SIR-VERE. With ‘REBOUND // IGGY’, they’re not teasing a new album. They’re demonstrating they have the range, the sound, and the idea.
