Richard Green’s “Little Things” Will Make You Rethink Everything
Not many are able to do it consistently and beautifully, but those who are able to, you really hear how rich their crafts are. Lemme tell you something, Richard Green is a guy who has spent a lot of time between Milan and London, and you can really hear that mix of cultures in his music. He has a degree in music from London and has done everything from electronic dance to classical piano and string quartets. He is a bit of a musical chameleon, but his latest single, “Little Things,” feels like one of his most personal projects yet.

The track was actually recorded a couple of years ago at Studio Elfo in Italy and in London, but he just got around to promoting it now because he’s been buried in other work. It is a solo project, but he brought in a professional violinist who absolutely kills it. Richard plays the violin himself, so he knows how to write for it, and the result is this super melodic, electro-dance tune that still manages to feel chill. He even mentioned that Avicii was a big influence because of how melodic those songs were, and you can definitely feel that vibe here.
The message behind the song is something we all probably need to hear. It’s about taking a second to appreciate the simple stuff—like a quick chat with a parent or a laugh with a friend—before they’re gone. Richard talks about how social media and our phones kind of push us apart, and this song is his way of trying to pull us back together. It’s a bit ironic to listen to a digital song about getting off your digital devices, but the music is so heartfelt that it works.
The violin performance is really the star of the show. It gives the track a rich, soulful feeling that you don’t always get in electronic music. I can say, he knows his stuff. The way he blends those genres are beautiful, and the way the tracks builds is interesting, the little switches keeps you engaged and glued. It is the kind of song that works just as well on a radio as it does when you’re just hanging out at home. It’s catchy, but it’s got that vibe and a heart, too.
Richard has a lot more coming later this year, including some melodic techno and a project that mixes funk and hip-hop. He’s clearly not someone who likes to stay in one lane for very long. Enjoy More From Richard Green here;
