Redesya – “TendeRage”: Where Tender Feelings Meet Raw Rage
Life can be fun and crazy at the same time. I get it especially when you haven’t figured life out. This makes it quite impossible to not feel left behind. Especially in your twenties, which are mostly filled with long series of weird mood swings, stress, overthinking etc. Well you ain’t alone, I get it, at one moment you think you have everything figured out, and the next minute you’re panicking about something silly. It’s emotional, chaotic and messy sometimes, and that feeling is what Italian alt-pop duo Redesya captured on their new EP, “TendeRage”.
Redesya are just a couple who have been making music together. So after a while life got boring and they went to London for a few months and returned with this EP, which they call a warm hug that turns into a sudden slap in the face. And I think that description fits it perfectly after listening. The EP blends catchy pop melodies, gritty alt-rock guitars, and modern electronic beats, which moves back and forth between total vulnerability (the tender side) and raw anger (the rage side).
Nothing feels weird than a fake friend welcoming you back from a journey acting all loving, comfy and fun and that’s what “Blah Blah Blah” kicks off the EP with. Love the design of this song, it’s got this fun, head-banging groove to it that immediately pulls you in. It starts calmly with that banging groove for a few secs and then the beat drops with that soothing calm witty vocals. We’ve all dealt with people who talk endlessly without actually saying anything real right? And “Blah Blah Blah” takes that exact frustration and turns it into this beauty of track that many of you can relate to. I love the production here, how it uses a punchy bassline and crisp drum beats to capture your attention is quite impressive, you can’t listen to it without nodding to it. All that the track is asking of you is to cut out fake friends and rather surround yourself with real people who actually care about you and think of your well-being.
It’s a great mood setter for the rest of the EP to follow and the next track titled “Liv” just picks the energy up with its mix upbeat and soulful melodies. See if you’ve ever had a sudden panic attack, this song will feel very familiar. It’s a track that represents pure anxiety. It starts calmly, then immediately builds up rapidly, creating a fast, almost rushed feel that mirrors a racing heartbeat. Before you could say jack, it slows down, keep you in the loop and switch up again, creating this immersive feel with the way the synth lines clash with tight percussion. The song captures that everyday stress of the young adult goes through, stress here and there, your brain fatigued and won’t shut up either, all in here.
Are you ready to take the “Red Pill” when things keep going southward, trusting people more than yourself? Well this song just turns up the confidence here, it starts with an upbeat that immediately grabs you by the collar. I love how calm, sensual the vocals feels, creating the perfect atmosphere like your brain whispering the right thing to do to you. The song acts as a direct call to trust your own mind, embrace your odd habits, and stop worrying about fitting in with everybody else. The production leans heavily into driving alt-rock energy with sharp guitar tones and bold synth stabs. I love the turn of beats at around minute 1:44 there off, it turns into a total rock blaster and it’s just lovely, consuming and atmospheric. It feels like the moment you finally stop apologizing for who you are and just own it, after all you can’t please everyone.
On this track “Jessie”, the beats are great and got some energy in there to tell its quiet, real story about sexual self-discovery. Have we all be in that moment where you’re in a relationship with another person(a boy) but you realize you’re actually begining to like another girl? That’s what this song is about, instead of feeling overly dramatic, the instrumentation stays clean and smooth, allows the vocal delivery to lead the narrative. You’ve got a similar twist in the beats to the previous track as well in here. It handles the confusion and realization of fluid attraction with genuine care, making it one of the most personal moments on the entire release.
“Blue Nostalgia” closes the EP with a bittersweet moment. The track feels like looking through old family photo albums. It serves as a tribute to childhood and growing up. The production blends warm synth pads with soft melodies, giving it a dreamy quality. It says thank the past for the good memories but don’t forget to accept that those easy days are officially over. It leaves you with a quiet, comforting feeling as the music fades out.
