Not everyone has one passion that magically appears at age 18 and stays forever. Some of us change interests faster than Netflix changes its recommendations. The vocal delivery also feels conversational, which suits the subject. Koenig sounds more like someone sharing an idea with you than giving you a lecture.

And that is what makes “Ikigai” enjoyable. It has something to say, but it does not take itself too seriously. The blues-rock groove, live-band feel, bouncing rhythm and thoughtful lyrics all work together nicely. Sometimes you don’t need to have your entire life figured out. Try things, learn, change direction and find what makes you happy. “Ikigai” is a reminder that finding your purpose can be a journey of discovery rather than one perfect answer.
