The song was recorded in a small home studio in Moshav Tzrufa, it’s got a clean and spacious feel to its instrumentations that I love. The moment on the track for me, is the way Naomi Shapira’s lead vocals shine through the track. Her delivery is sweet, clear, and full of heartfelt warmth. When the chorus kicks in, smooth vocal harmonies stack up in the background, channeling the classic sound of 60s groups like The Mamas & the Papas and The Carpenters.
“Heaven Is Here” offers a direct counterpoint to John Lennon’s famous anthem “Imagine”. While Lennon asked us to imagine a world with no heaven above us, Gideon turns the idea completely inside out. He suggests that heaven is already all around us in the natural world, in human connection, and in the simple joy of being alive. And I think it’s true, cos of every imagination you would, that experience is drawn from this very place. It frames the idea of paradise as a simple shift in mindset. Instead of waiting for a miracle down the road, the song urges us to practice kindness, appreciate our lives today, and treat every moment like something precious.
And I think this is what’s lost or getting lost in our world today. Many are not kind, many don’t even value genuine connection again.
