“Infinity Fall I” by Watch Me Die Inside Is a Loud and Unpredictable EP
I always say music has a way of finding itself attached to anyone and sometimes we can’t do anything about it. You don’t even sometimes have to understand what’s playing and then boom you’re interested the moment it passes through your ear to your soul. So if you think you’ve seen every possible genre of music, Aleph from Cyprus would like a word with you. He calls his style “Deathened Melodic Electro Pop Black Metal.” It sounds like a lot, but basically, imagine if a heavy metal band and a 1980s synth-pop group got into a fight in a haunted house. The results is what Watch Me Die Inside(Aleph) has crafted on his latest EP.

Well Watch Me Die Inside has been making music since the early 2000s, and his latest EP, Infinity Fall I, is a perfect example of what happens when you have too many ideas and the talent to actually pull them off. He’s part classically trained and part self-taught, which explains why the music feels so precise but also a little bit unhinged. Cos you can’t teach some of the things he did on the EP, is either you have it or you don’t, the talent brings for these sort of magical moments on the EP.
Welcoming every listener to his world is the opening title track, “Infinity fall I“. This track has a feel to it that makes me love it. It starts off almost gentle with some piano and digital beats. You might think you’re listening to a normal pop song for about 2mins, but then the floor drops out. Suddenly, there are black metal riffs and screaming vocals that sound like they came straight from the basement of a castle. Then you’re taken back to those soft melodious pop strings and soothing vocals. Bringing variety and a bit of dark themes to keep the listener in awe and glued to the song.
Next song after the opener is “Weak tension“. This one feels a bit more like modern metal mixed with some nu-metal vibes. It’s got a steady, thumping beat that makes you want to move, but the guitars are sharp and jagged. It’s the kind of song that feels like it’s constantly building up to something big, keeping you on edge the whole time. It lives up to the name perfectly—there is definitely a lot of tension here. And the vocals are soo crisp that, it keeps the listener on their toes and engaged. There’s no dull moment on the EP, each track comes in with a different energy that leaves listeners mesmerized.
Now the final track is “Something is wrong“. This track starts smoothly with this beautiful piano single notes, then the smooth vocals comes in and sweep the listener into this pop thumping drums beats where they are left to float and vibe to the song. This is the darkest song on the record. I love those eerie, shimmering guitar notes that feel like dust floating in the air. Halfway through, it completely explodes into chaos. The vocals go from melodic to full-on demonic growls. It’s a pretty intense way to end the EP. I must say, this track is ma favorite on the EP, you don’t get many EPs to end the way this track ends in but, those dark heavy guitars and drums at the end just does it for me. Leaving the listener feeling a little bit spooked and very impressed.
Watch Me Die Inside has been busy lately, putting out three EPs in just one year. You can tell he is a guy who just can’t stop creating. If you’re tired of music that fits into a neat little box, you should definitely check this out. It’s loud, it’s weird, also very cool and it’s unlike anything else you’ll hear this week.
