Inside the world of “Psychedelika Pt.1” by The New Citizen Kane
The New Citizen Kane has never been the type to release a song, post a selfie, and vanish. When he shows up, he brings an entire universe with him. His new project, Psychedelika Pt.1, is proof. It’s the first half of something even bigger, and he treats it like a living world instead of a regular album.
This record is personal, bright, emotional, and sometimes a little strange in the best way. Kane calls it an unfiltered look at life, and that checks out. Some moments feel dreamy, others feel sharp, and some feel like he is letting you read a private page he probably didn’t plan to share.
What makes the whole thing even more impressive is that he did everything himself. Every sound, every video, every idea comes straight from him. No team of writers, no producer telling him to change the chorus, no committee. Just Kane, his thoughts, and a lot of patience.
His return to music also shapes the tone of this release. After almost ten years without putting out new work, he came back in 2024 with The Tales of Morpheus. That album showed he still had plenty to say. Psychedelika Pt.1 is the next step, and Part 2 is already lined up for 2026. He is clearly building something large.

The album holds seventeen tracks (17), each one touching a different part of human messiness: anxiety, heartbreak, late nights, honesty, fear, desire, confusion, and those long pauses where you have to admit things to yourself. Nothing feels forced or put on. Kane isn’t trying to follow trends. He’s trying to tell the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable.
The title track ‘Welcome to Psychedelika‘ opens the album brightly. A short, steady opener. It feels like someone opening a door and waving you in. Sets the mood without giving anything away. ‘I Don’t Need To Say’; A quiet track about closeness that doesn’t need big speeches. It feels warm and steady. ‘Here, Now’; Simple and still. A reminder to slow down. Feels like a deep breath in the middle of the album.
‘My Muse‘ marks the moment he returned to music. You can feel the relief in it. It feels like Kane catching his breath and finding himself again. Soft, simple, and honest. It sounds like a quiet moment at the end of a long night.‘Heads Are Round’ is a fast tangle of thoughts. The words and music twist around each other. It’s playful and restless at the same time. ‘San Diego’; A warm memory turned bittersweet. It feels like sunshine mixed with a quiet ache. ‘Eyes Wide Shut’; A mix of desire and doubt. The music keeps pulling forward even when the story feels unsure. ‘Subconscious’; A song about a pull that doesn’t make sense but won’t go away. The rhythm has a sly edge.
And this project is more than music. The New Citizen Kane is releasing the album one month early through his own label. Fans who buy the physical or direct version get an exclusive app with the visual album, journals, three mini games, mindfulness tools, community features, and extra content leading into Part 2. It’s basically a portable universe.
He also has a launch event planned with installations, art, scent, holograms, and a small live set. It sounds like something you go to as a normal person and leave as someone who needs a snack and a long nap. Later, he will release a coffee-table book with the visuals and stories from this era.
Now this track ‘Well, Damn! Here You Are’ is just a masterpiece. The beats are Soo inviting and consuming, then those soothing vocals of Kane comes in and sweeps you away. This song is a late-night mistake turned into a catchy anthem. The kind of song that understands you even when you don’t want to admit anything out loud. ‘Whispering Tango’; Wow, this song gives me glimpses of Michael Jackson’s Thriller if it was slowed down, the beats are soo crisp and captures your attention from the first drop till the end. It’s a slow dance filled with mixed signals. It moves with a soft rhythm and two people trying to understand each other.
‘Push The Fear Out’;A hopeful track about facing the things that scare us. It turns fear into something you can dance to. The video idea makes the message even clearer. ‘Bite The Bullet’; A heavy and honest breakup song. No pretty cover-ups. Just truth. You can hear the hurt, but also the release. ‘Ratbag Joy’; A bright beat carrying darker words. It captures the way nightlife can hide sadness under flashing lights. It’s fun until you notice what he’s actually saying.
‘As Within, So Without’; A reflective song about losing yourself in someone else. Warm, uneasy, and real. ‘It’s Saturday and I’m High’; A playful track with a sharp edge. Politics shown through a cartoon lens, complete with Batman the bulldog. ‘Café Life’; A snapshot of people sitting together but feeling alone. Small, still, and relatable.
‘Afterglow’, closes the album in a beautiful way one would just wanna repeat the whole album again. Its one of his most open songs yet. He wrote it while dealing with anxiety, and you can hear the pressure in every line. It feels like someone finally saying what they’ve kept quiet for too long.
‘Boots’ (CD and vinyl bonus)A bold final moment for the physical version. It struts, smiles, and walks out with style. Well Kane is not chasing radio trends. He’s not following industry rules. He’s building his own lane, one strange and honest piece at a time. Psychedelika Pt.1 is his boldest step so far. It’s emotional, funny, messy, and human. That’s why it works.
